Voicemail Greeting

Tonight turned out to be a VERY good night for me. As you may know I planned on walking away from the Seattle Supersonics after this game. Well here is what happened, but a little background first:

An associate of mine works for a smaller law firm on the east coast. I never much liked the firm and so I didn't think much of the people that worked there. Well, through my business dealings with said firm, I met a guy who claimed to be Sam Presti college roommate at some small school in Virginia. I could never confirm it and believe he was blowing smoke because he knew how much I love the Sonics. Well, I sat down and talked to Sam Presti before the game about our mutual friend. Turns out they did live together and I will have to buy this guy dinner because the coolest thing happened to me tonight.

Sam Presti went and brought Kevin Calabro over to meet me. After talking for a few minutes to KC, I asked him if he would do me a HUGE favor and voice my answering machine greeting for my cell phone. The message went like this:

Hi, this is Kevin Calabro the voice of the Seattle Supersonics and you have reached Splifton's phone. Currently he is unavailable because he is flying high on a magic carpet ride up on the down stroke with a two hand jam. Please leave a message after the tone and he will get back to you.

Anyway, KC said he does these greetings all the time and if it did not work I could just e-mail him with a my voicemail number and he would do it at a later time. I ended up getting my phone to work at the last minute and so he did the greeting for me. To repay him, I told him that I would make a donation in his name to his favorite charity. I just contacted the charity to get the donation info. When they get back to me I plan on making a donation and e-mailing Mr. Calabro to thank him and let him know I followed through on the donation.

I called everyone I know to have them listen to my voicemail greeting and I am really pumped about it. Here is my questions for you guys. How much should I donate to the Northwest Spinal Cord Society? And most everyone I talked to asked if I could relay that they would make a similar donation if KC would do there voicemail greeting. Should I suggest this to him? And would any of you be interested in a greeting. Let me know you thoughts.

^Ha Wiff! I like that one..

In all seriousness though, I'd say $50-100 bucks is reasonable enough..depending on your living situation. If you feel like you could give more, then at least double that.

wow what a great story!

I'm assuming this means you won't be walking away from the team?

and how was Presti? I know KC was the main focus of the story, but I'm curious what he's like in person.
