Honestly, I see this guy as being the only person that can throw a wrench in @ the NBA Board of Governors meeting to approve the move...

It is hard to gauge how he will behave since he became less public in Dallas. I really have no idea.

Pinning your hopes on the NBA Board of Governors, or one owner not personally involved in this team, seems like your setting yourself up for failure.

Trust me, if Cuban wants something to happen, David Stern will do everything in his power to NOT make that happen. So if you are hoping that Cubes can make Stern the dictator change his mind, its wishful thinking. Take it from someone who's watched plenty of Dallas Mavericks. Its very unfortunate though, theres a lot of history with the Sonics and I hope they dont leave Seattle.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the vote have to be unanimous or close to unanimous?

Cuban could be our savior, and really he is the only one that would really make sense anyways...

No that vote deosn't has to be unanimous.
It's enough if there's one more yes/no vote.

Though, those guys tend to help themselves out and we shouldn't expect anything else then a 28-1 or 27-2(i doubt Bennett gets to vote on this one) in favour of Bennett's wish.

Hopefully some other owners will publicly state that they feel the same way as Cuban although it's unlikely. Cuban brings up a good point though. Moving a team out of the 14th largest market and creating a "dustbowl division" as Cuban calls it does not help the league.

Not to be a downer, but Cuban did and said the same things with the Charlotte Hornets relocation, and it didn't do a lot of good.

The vote was 28-1, though.

That one vote was actually from the Grizzlies' owner, who was said to attach "conditions" to his vote, which in turn basically caused it to be listed as a "no" vote.

Cuban said he would vote "no," and he ended up being one of the many to vote "yes." He went on a Charlotte radio show, and talked a nice game, and said he would do whatever it takes to keep the team in Charlotte, and this and that, and, well, we see what happened.

I think Cuban just likes to get his name in the headlines, and trying to look like someone's savior, when he won't be. If it's anything like the relocation of the Hornets, he's probably more upset that the relocating team will be near his team and might take away some fans, rather than keeping the team from relocating to begin with.

Hopefully he won't be as scummy to you guys as he was to us, and will actually follow through on his word and at least vote "no" this time around.

Maybe he realizes that bennett is a liar and OKC can't support a team over the years.

I am done trying to be even remotely nice to anyone associated with anything OKC. Every time I try to engage one of you guys either here or on your site for a decent conversation I get met with anger.

I think I remember Cuban discussing the Grizzlies and basically saying even though he disagreed, there was no point voting no because it would pass regardless

Not wanting to lose the Oklahoma fan base is actually a good reason that I hadn't thought of. A big part of the Dallas fan base is from Oklahoma, isn't it? (I don't know for sure, but that sounds very plausible.) Of course, he can also have other reasons as Bennith mentions.
