I wouldn't mind it. Could be interesting. Their announcement also bumps Weaver down a couple spots, which might make him available for maybe an early 2nd rd steal?

You don't know much about basketball or how to run a team argyle. First Petro is showing many signs of improvement if you have been paying attention so I doubt we would draft a Center much less two of them, they play the exact same position. You really want to draft Weaver? he reminds me of Reece Gaines with better defense and a little less complete offensive game I can see Weaver being a contributor as an 8th or 9th man for a San Antonio or Detroit team but we need stars or at the least starters. We need to get Rose/Beasley with the first pick and then use some of our picks from the next 2 years since we have 2 this year and the next 2 to move up and snag a Augustin if we get Beasley with the first pick or get a player like Mayo. If we don't make any trades at all we should take the memphis trio Rose CDR and Dorsey all could contribute right away and fill needs or if we get Beasley trade up for Augustin and then select Dorsey as well. Both Lopez twins seriously?

Because getting a guy like Robin Lopez in the late first round(with that Suns pick) could be something really good for us.
I think that guy has quite some upside and his defense is already there.

I don't know much about twin psychology, and maybe I'm being naive, but how can Robin not have issues with low self esteem? How does he not feel like Danny Devito to his brother's Arnold Schwartzenegger?

Maybe take Brook if we slide but the second first rounder should draft a different position then the first IMO. Should we really pick a C/PF when we have holes at both positions?

As for Weaver he will be an excellent pro player.

Want no part of Lopez brothers. I'd rather have Mayo and Ibaka. Or Mayo and Walker, or Mayo and Dorsey. Someone mentioned Dorsey has peaked already- this guy has everything Seattle doesn't have- attitude. He is a Detroit Pistons-type player, and that's what we need an infusion of. Right now when I think of the Sonics, they seem a little too feathery...

I usually don't buy in to trolling flame wars, but what the heck.

1. I currently make my living and support my family through sports. I played at a very competitive level myself (after playing in college). My cousin plays in the NBA. A couple of my buddies play in the MLS. I know a thing or two about sports. Maybe not as much as your Madden and NBA Live sporting education, but it's a start I suppose.

2. Dorsey is currently projected between picks 20-30. He's not going to be available in the 2nd round.

3. I don't go to WSU. Once again, stop assuming things about people when you troll.

4. If you recall the order of events in this thread, it started with me posting a news item, and with my comment of something to the effect of "I wouldn't mind having them, it could be interesting", followed by your follow up post saying how I don't know anything about anything.

5. Go to the Knicks board, you'll fit right in.

EDIT - If you want an exhibition of negativity and pessimism, check out ryantony's catalog of past posts. Sounds like a glass half empty type of person...

The first thing both of you have to realize is that there is rarely a "guaranteed" sure thing in the draft( unless it's a Lebron James which is a once in a decade player). Even at the very top. I would never place myself in the position of declaring a player good or a bust.

Brook Lopez could turn out to be a very good center or he could end up having a career path like Chris Mihm who was a #2 pick I think.

We simply don't know. Reggie Evans was a star in college, yet was passed over in the draft. He's managed to cut out a decent NBA career but his name is seldom mentioned anymore. Dorsey could end up like that.

Luther Head was going to be a great second round steal as a combo guard. Defense was supposed to be his thing but he's turned himself into a Delonte West type that likes to jack up three's. Who knows where Weaver will fit?

My point is that it's kind of silly to try and one up each other proclaiming that certain college players will end up as this or that.

Do we really believe that Dallas knew something the rest of the Gm's didn't when Josh Howard fell to the bottom of the first round or was it a case of no one knew how he would turn out and they simply got lucky?

I strongly doubt that Brook Lopez will be more than a borderline starter in the NBA.
