He basically said gregoire is just speaking big about doing something, and that if she really wanted to do something, she could have, and still could.

Couldnt talk about the howard angle.

Did he say why he couldn't talk about Howard?

Interesting.

I didn't hear this myself, but my husband did on the news...Howard was in Seattle yesterday for some big coffee presentation and the media was there. They started asking him questions about the new situation with the city uncovering Clay's e-mails. Howard flat out told them "No comment. That was two years ago and I am over the Sonics."

I'd be interested why Slade couldn't talk about the Howard angle..maybe he's trying to reach Schultz...but as far as I know, Howard doesn't want to have anything to do with the Sonics at this point.

It doesn't have to be Howard, it could be Wally or one of the other owners that comes in as the Hero. I would hope that someone is talking with the previous owners.

^Yes, that's true.

Come on Wally Walker! Step up and be the man you never were for us.

Good scenario: Former owners (Shultz or no) file breach of contract suit against Clay, with the goal of negating the deal-- with the Bennett getting $340M for Sonics (orig. price less $10M for Storm), which Balmer's group would pay and get the team. First step after filing would be to obtain restraining order to prohibit Clay from trading/selling off team assetts like talent or picks.

Better scenario: Clay and owner group meet to discuss situation and their room gets hit by large meteor.

Best scenario: Stern and the SB40 refs are also there...

Judging from Schultz' comments regarding the Sonics, it seems unlikely he'd be the one to move on filing the breach of contract lawsuit, but I can envision Wally Walker or one of the other members of the previous ownership group willing to file suit. How ironic would it be if the man who caused so much agony for Sonics fans for a decade ended up being the man that ultimately rescues Sonic fans from this nightmare?

ironic indeed. and maybe fitting as well.

howard should have left it at no comment. no need to throw in the " i am over the sonics" remark

why do people say "no comment" then immediatley comment?
