The game has just started.
Your move stern/bennett.
Even if this is a longshot, It muddies the water I think enough for the BOG to table discussions of relocation until both lawsuits are taken care of.

I was just about to post this. HOwIE, way to step up my man! I will lift the ban on Starbucks if this is true. Well...maybe. We'll have to see how this goes.
Way to go Howard. God I hope this is really legit.

Sounds very legit, they have quotes from the law offices that is doing the suing.
I can't believe this!

Not sure how much of a case he will have unless he can prove that the original deal stipulated that Bennett could not move the team or that his group could only move the team under certain circumstances. I doubt Bennett would put that kind of stuff in writing, so this is likely to be an uphill battle. I wish Howard luck, though...I don't want the Sonics to leave. I also have to hand it to Howard for making the attempt to make amends for this mistake.

Wow... I can't say I saw this one coming especially considering Schultz' recent comments on the situation... Whether or not this lawsuit has a chance, I don't know. I don't think this can hurt the cause, though.

Can someone break down what is going to happen in the next few months with the voting by the board of governors, court appearances and other important dates? That would be beautiful.
The big question is: Did Shulz make up for what he started?

I wrote a message then added a smiley and the whole message got erased, here I go again.I was hoping Howard would file some kind of a lawsuit, but to get the team back? Wow. So this is why Slade didn't have any comment about Schultz on kjram. Also, this is probably the big news Brian from sos was refering. Go Mr. Schultz! No smiley face at the end this time.

Good luck Sonics fans
This may be your only real chance.

Unless something was in writing, there is virtually no chance of it being reversed. However, as a Bucks fan, I hope you keep your team. The Sonics have been around for far too long for this to happen.
Keep the faith!

I had to come back in here to re-read the story just in case I was dreaming last night.
This entire situation is making me lose sleep. Way to go to Slade Gorton..he's such a rockstar. Those e-mails have opened up a can of worms at all angles of this story.
The big question is: Did Shulz make up for what he started?
Not yet in my opinion. It's unbelievable that he's doing this, but I hope his main reasoning isn't to try and save face with the city. By this I mean I hope he actually feels betrayed by Clay.
I still think he knew about Clay's true intentions from the get-go, so he's the reason we're stuck in the place we are in now. How could he not have known? He made Clay agree to make the good faith effort.

good luck guys- hope the sonics stay in seattle.
I know when the hornets moved from char. it was awful for me and we didn't have half the history of the sonics.

interesting. i think at this point the BOG will probably defer or pass on the vote for relocation until the lawsuits are settled.
i dont think howard is trying to save face here. i think he is pissed. everyone can say "we all knew bennett was going to move the team" but there was a specific "good faith effort" clause in the sales agreement. and everything bennett publicly was at odds with what he was saying in those e-mails. it also seems that he has been trying to intentionally devalue the franchise and alienate everyone who supports it.
i would say howard has reason to be pissed. and he may have a case as well.
