In my opinion, outside of Brook Lopez & Kevin Love there are no centers in the draft this year worth taking. I mean that in two ways.
First, I haven't given up on R Swift. I haven't seen him on the court in a long time. I don't know how his rehab is going. But I do know he was still injured last year. If he recovers from his knee injury with anything close to the mobility he had before the injury, he's easily as good or better than any center in this draft not named Brook Lopez or Kevin Love. DeAndre Jordan's potential doesn't mean a whole lot to me. That's one kid who should stay in school if he's serious about ever becoming a decent basketball player.
Secondly, this is a deep draft filled with solid basketball players. At #24/25, #32 and even #43 they should be able to draft legitimate players who have every chance of becoming solid role players. Heck, I'm thinking the #24/25 pick could even become a starter with luck.
So with these two points in mind, and considering how far the Sonics still have to go before fielding a team capable of contending, I think they're way better off drafting best player available and not picking another center they hope will develop.
