Hey Wiff (Or Others from Spokane)...

I'm moving to Cheney to go to grad school in a month and a half. I'm curious if anyone knows where some casinos are in the area. I play poker to pay for school when I don't feel like waiting tables (which will be during the winter when I really don't plan on working). Thanks for your time!

Well you're in luck HeavyP. There is one a bout ten minutes out of Cheney call the Northern Quest Casino in "Airway Heights". Plus some other that are in Idaho or farther North.

But that one is the closest and from my understanding they are going to add on to it however it's pretty big as is.

Here's to tons of 11's going your way.

Alright sweet. I just looked that one up. I'm sure I won't have a lot of time to play, but the money is way better in person then online, no matter how boring it is.

P

I play pretty regularly at Big Daddy's on the South Hill of Spokane.

I also play once in awhile (maybe once a month or so) at Northern Quest. Its not bad, quite a few marks out there, but also some good players. The casino is massive and they're expanding again.

I just prefer Daddys because their games usually go later in the night and its 5 minutes from my house. I probably play there once a week or so.

Are you moving to Cheney or Spokane? I lived in Cheney a couple years when I went to EWU. If you're over 22 years old you're going to be bored out of your mind. I'd suggest Spokane and commuting...

Hit me up when you get here.

I'm 23 and my fiancee and I are both starting grad school at EWU to become teachers. We just got a place in Cheney that's right next to the new workout facilities, 2 blocks from a community pool and 1 block from campus. I'll probably be bored out of my mind in winter, but during summer I'll be busy playing basketball and working out. I really didn't want to commute because I don't have a car with 4WD or AWD, and didn't want to live too far away from campus because then I'd never go to class! :-) I'll let you know when I move over, you and Wiff can come bother me at work in Spokane. I have an interview set up to work at The Onion in downtown Spokane.

Did Big Daddy's used to be The Scrapbook (Was that the name? That bowling place on 29th and Regal ...)?

(I used to live between Spokane and Cheney when I went to high school at Ferris, off the Spokane-Cheney Rd. I should also note that it is pretty easy to commute to via I90.)

Yeah, thats the place. Although I've only been in Spokane for a few years, so I've only known it as Big Daddys. Still has the bowling alley and recently renovated their restaurant and bar. Not a bad little place.

Boo Saxons. Did you hear that one kid committed to WSU though?

I used to bounce at a restaurant/bar downtown and know lots of people in the downtown service industry. Do you have a lead at the Onion or just randomly pick it out?

I currently work at Red Robin in alderwood, and basically can transfer to any Red Robin. So I'll do that for the first week to have a job right away. I've already talked to the managers at The Onion and they said I'd basically be hired when I was ready to go there.

I did, the kid from Ferris right? Washington State player of the year he still needs to get his grade in order though. But he should be pretty good though.

Maybe when it stops snowing over here we can have a draft party somewhere. Who knows maybe I can even talk you guys into a game of Wiffle Ball or should I say Wiff.

That kids name is DeAngelo Casto. They are kinda weary of his grades but he looks solid. Hopefully he can be that replacement for Ivory Clark.

Heavy P, are you the deadbeat in our Real GM Fantasy Basketball League? If so, shame on you.

I was. I joined because I really enjoy fantasy basketball. however, this being the last year of my undergrad I literally had ZERO time. I finished my undergrad degree way ahead of schedule to make everything fit. I know, I slacked 100% this season, and for that I'm sorry. ;-)

I will grudgingly accept your apology. (You left Ilgauskas and Dalembert rot on the bench all season -unused- while we were struggling to find waiver-wire fodder as our centers suffered injuries.)

So I'm moving June 18th , the draft is June 26, hoopfest is June 28-29. The girlfriend is in Hawaii from the 20-30. Hopefully I have comcast set up by the draft otherwise I'm going to be bothering one of you guys from Spokane to let me watch the draft with you. ;-)

I hope you Spokane guys are watching your Chiefs in the Memorial Cup this weekend. Here in Canada it's a huge thing with a long tradition. It's an extremely prestigous thing to win it.

I have to say I like the Cheif's chances, they have been stellar all year. I know it's being broadcast on Comcast but I can't find the channel on Direct TV that is airing it.

So, there were delays but I'm finally over here on the Eastside of the mountains. I've found 1510 AM is sports radio, so that's a good start.

I should be getting Directtv on Tuesday, which means I can watch the NBA draft, however if that falls through I guess I'll just bring my laptop to a starbucks or the library and try to find a streaming live video of the draft. Would any of you guys be interested in getting together to watch the draft? I have a 50 inch TV and plenty of seats, and no girlfriend to interrupt the draft here, but there may be a better place to go watch it as a group if you guys are interested.

Hey Heavy, I'm down to watch the draft together,

Right now I happened to be looking for a new job, my boss who is a contractor decided to shut down his company. Therefore I got shut down too. He paid me through the end of the month but I still need to find a new job. So if someone tells me I need to work during the draft in order for me to be hired obviously that will take prioity but otherwise I'm looking forward to seeing how the draft shakes out.
