In your opinion what's the best possible statline of Petro in his prime?

Depends how hard he works. He's still pretty young. He already is a legit 1st big off the bench. Whether he's capable of becoming a starter is the question.

He averaged 6-5 in 18 minutes this season.

As a starter he has averaged 8-7 in 25.

I don't think it would be farfetched to say he could hit double digit points and 9rebs.

He's 22, he averaged about 8.5pts 7reb .5asst .75stl and .5blk in 25mpg as a starter. If he can develop a little bit of a post game and be more consistent from 13-18ft he could easily average in the neighborhood of 15-17ppg and if he continues that rebounding rate he could average 9-10 boards in starters mins... big "ifs" but we're talking "best possible".

His ceiling? Tough to say exactly. But it is promising that at a young age still he looked considerably improved last season. Did Kurt Thomas teach him something? Who knows. But picking up his two option years is a no brainer and since his learning curve took a sharp upturn this season I believe he can make another step next season in his developing game. All the physical skills are there. It's how he puts it together is what will be interesting.

Unless the Sonics make a move in the offseason or on draft day for an experienced center, which I don't see them doing, then Petro stands a good chance of claiming a 25-28 minutes a game average for the entire season in 08/09.

I think his ceiling, which he probably won't reach, is to be a better than average starter in this league. This means averaging about a double-double, or close to it (in rebounds) ... probably about 18ppg, a block or two each game, about three assists, and do all of this very efficiently (about .47 fg% and one turnover). More realistically, he will probably plateau as an average starter or good rotation center.

He needs more scoring from inside the paint. He should reach 15pts and 9 rebs per game if he gets 30 minutes per game.

He does as mentioned have all the pyhiscal tools he needs to become pretty good.

He has a solid jumper out to about the elbow of the key.

He can run the floor better than just about every other 7 footer out there.

His D isn't great but it has definately improved. I never see him being a great shot blocker but I do think he will be adequate.

I'd like to see him add some more weight of course he is 7' and only 22 that should come with time.

So really the only thing keeping me from saying I think he can get 16pts and 9rebs for a few years is his willingnss to go inside and mix it up.

So far he hasn't shown a consistent basis of wanting to go scrap in the paint. Maybe when he puts on a few more pounds and doesn't get pushed around so easily he might be more willing.

I would be happy if he simply improved like Rashard Lewis did. Lewis never really took that huge step to become a superstar but he did come back after every offseason with a new wrinkle to his game.

For example this year if Petro came back with a reliable little hook shot that he can use in the paint, and focus on defense I'd be ecstatic.

I don't need to see Dwight Howard I just want steady improvement.

Steady improvement in 5 years time can go a long way.

After thinking about it I see Petro's ceiling as 13.6 points, 8.2 rebounds, .8 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game averages. And that's his ceiling if all goes right for him.
