In my opinion the best draft website is DraftExpress and the most informed person not employed by an NBA team is Jonathan Givony. Here's his mock draft... but I still think it's OJ Mayo at #4

Jonathan was/is a long time realgm poster. He started his own draft site with other realgm posters 3-4 years ago. His dedication to getting information is commendable and you can see a progression and growth in his evaluations from year one to now. He has some good sources, but there is so much misinformation issued that predicting the decisions of 30 organizations is impossible.

I expect a little more fluctuation in draft positions this year than in years past.

det, I agree that N Batum at #24 would be a fantastic pick up. I don't see him falling that far, but I hope he does! Who do you see at #32? And #43?

By the way, just to continue our disagree on K Love, I don't think the Wolves, I mean McHale, is choosing between OJ Mayo & B Lopez. I think he's choosing between B Lopez & K Love at #3. Seriously.

If we'd end up with Bayless and Batum at #4 & #24, then i'd go for a big at #32. So guys like DJ White, Richard Hendrix or even Alexis Ajinca would be my choice there.
At #46 i'd go for BPA. A guy like Weaver might be available or a shooter like Richard Roby(Colorado). Or even go big and take on of those foreing bigs(to let them develop overseas) or go for a guy like Trent Plaisted.

Another guy i'd like in the 2nd round is Pat Calathes(the older brother of Florida Gator's Guard Nick Calathes). He's a SF/PF with a very high BB IQ who can either work down low or on the perimeter. He's not going to blow you away with anything, but i think he could work himself into a solid NBA career.

Yes, Brook Lopez surely will be watched close by the Wolves, as he'd be an ideal fit next to the bruising Al Jefferson. Love, on the other hand, shouldn't be close to being considered at that spot.

Hey, we are in complete agreement. Amazing. Except I don't think we've a realistic chance of drafting N Batum.

Agree on K Weaver. That'd be a great pick up at #43. But I think he'll be long gone. I'm more on the stash 'em in Europe or use 'em as trade filler camp.

By the way, what's with the #46? I thought that pick was from Portland. Don't they have the 13th & 43rd picks based on their record?

I agree I'm on my own with this prediction so far, but I don't think it's that unreasonable. DraftExpress has him at #5. I could easily see Kevin Love & Al Jefferson forming a solid & talented set of bigs for Minnesota. Even if K Love played PF, A Jefferson could play center.

But seriously, Kevin Love at 3 is just absurd talk. And to be honest, I just think its all a bit to Sonics fans that theres hope that Mayo will be there at 4...when theres a good-> better chance he wont be, the more this turns into just a 3 horse draft

I don't see it turning out as a three horse draft.

I think it's still more of a two horse draft with about 3 other guys being one step lower.

I would offer them the #4, the #24 & C Wilcox but I don't think it would be enough. And in the end, if we get OJ Mayo I'm going to be really happy about this draft anyway.

Maybe you're right about the OJ Mayo hope. Still, it just seems to an outsider a logical pick.

What are the thought on R McCants & C Brewer?

I dont think Mccants is a starter in this league, dime a dozen player, would be nice to get him off the bench for a scoring player but I think his ego would never accept that...

Brewer just needs offensive help...big time and add a lot of weight..big time.

And yes, I know the whole outsider pick, and ive said it 30 times, Lopez is a fine pick at 4, but we didnt drop like the Sonics did so that throws it out the window.

There's a few things that are predictable every year at draft time. One is that early on certain names get engrained and mocks all seem to look pretty much the same. Two is that about a week before the draft a couple names go through the rumor mill as quickly rising up the charts because of dynamite workouts and the mocks all start to change. Three is that there is always a team in the higher part of the draft that falls in love with a big man and drafts one on that old saying of you can't teach size.

Seattle better hope that Minnesota goes with #3.

I'm hoping for Mayo but if he is gone I'm still sticking with my preference as trading the #4 and #24 pick plus another player to New Jersey to get Sean Williams, #10, and #21, with Seattle then picking Augustin and Rush, thus getting a good pointguard, center, and a shooting guard in one swoop to go along with Durant at small forward and Green at power forward.

#2 is going for Ray Felton and #9 for Watson and #4. There's plenty to pick from at #9.

take mayo over bayless .mayo plays good d.can play point but would be great sg.mayo has been elite since high school.rose benefited from a final four and was on a better team .teams reversed could we be talking about rose or bayless not mayo?personally though i think were gonna end up with lopez as wolves will take mayo.with lopez being compared to a poor mans duncan ,presti could copy his former spurs and see lopez as seattles new duncan .im not sold on lopez ie other comments soft seven footer.but didnt he have his brother on the team to do the dirty work.was he not asked to be more offensive than defensive.anyway werent stanford one of the best defensive teams in college last year with him on their team.he did also register 12 blocks in one game .but still i worried if the center jinx hits us again.
