Are we helping?

Is what we're doing on this RealGM board useful?
Does Sam Presti or any of his assistants sign on and take a look at what some of the educated fans (I am not claiming to be one) have to say about the organization?
Or are we just analyzing and achieving within our own community?

Sam Presti's connection and obligation to the fan base of Seattle is one of the most complicated relationships in sports right now.
My take is that Presti's primary obligation is to himself. By that I think he is attempting to build the Sonics into the best team possible to please himself and no one else.
Having been a fan of the Sonics before the internet information age, I've always been grateful to have a voice to share my thoughts and opinions on the Sonics. There is usually no better point in time to be reminded that you are a fan with absolutely no power or say, than at draft time.

Presti's goal HAS to be to carry out Bennett's will for the franchise.
What we know for sure is that Bennett wants to lose in Seattle, build up resources for later (when in OKC), cut costs while here, and try to alienate the fan base.
What we can see from Presti is that he has cut off nearly all access of the players to the fans and media, kept the team out of local events, made trades that help the team in the future, traded away the best players for future picks, cut payroll, kept all local favorites away (Sikma, Wilkens, Casey, etc), and built up a pretty good stash of future draft picks.
I don't think he checks these boards unless he wants to get a feel for who the fans like-- which does not make me comfortable...

"...more fond of Oklahoma City than Seattle is Indiana guard Eric Gordon. 'That would be a better spot (Oklahoma City) than being all the way up there in Seattle,' Gordon said...."
Don't be surprised with an Eric Gordon 4th pick?
