Let me get this one straight. Seattle trades Jeff Green, Chris Wilcox, the #4 pick to Miami for Michael Beasley and fillers?
First off those "fillers" add up to roughly $10mil. That's alot of filler.
Second, we're talking Green, Wilcox, and let's say Bayless or Mayo for Beasley. That's lofty expectations for Beasley I'd say.
I don't see the Sonics doing this trade.

Wow this is absolutely horrible for Seattle no wonder why Minny thought it was fair. They get Green and the fourth pick for simply giving up Mayo? Who says Mayo is going to be head and shoulders above Bayless? Meanwhile Seattle also trades away Wilcox who is an expiring. Minny makes out like a bandit and Seattle get's uses like a prison b!t@h.

I would have to agree. This is way too expensive for Seattle. Beasley might be worth the #4 plus maybe another low first or a high second. I am not sure I would want him. He plays SF and Jeff Green will be an All Star at that position. We need to use our top pick to address a position of need while also ensuring we get another franchise player. I think one of the guards or a big man would be the best choice.

Actually Minny fans said yes BUT no way the Sonics are doing that.

If you structure it right then the filler is pretty easy to come up with and basically consists of Beasley's deal and expirings plus some cash to buy them out, using the rights to #4 in the trade to keep down the money coming back.
The deal still sucks for you unless you believe Beasley is the next dominant 2-way big man in the league for some deluded reason but the filler isn't a problem.

I am so looking forward to watching Beasley's gregarious nature grate on Riley's nerves.

lol!
Per item from the Wiretap, Seattle and Memphis are looking at no. 2.
If ever, are you also looking forward to watching Beasley's gregarious nature great on a coach nerve too than an executive? A coach would be more interesting to see, after all they're the one on the court. . . . PJ is the best!

What do you guys think would be realistic for Miami to swap #2 for #4? Spurs future 1st and ?
Then trade Wilcox, #24 and #50 trade to NJ for #10
Draft
#2 Beasley
#10 Westbrook
#32 Weaver
#43 Dorsey
#50 Plaisted
Lineup
Westbrook/Watson/Ridnour
Durant/Weaver
Green/Wilkins/Marshall
Beasley/Dorsey/Plaisted
Collison/Petro/Sene

Hi ya, Hoops! Love the new avatar. Did you know we've all pretty much branded Pajamas a screaming lunatic incapable of maintaining effectove long term relationships with players? It's true. He's lost the team. The only reason he's still here is the aweful ownership situation. Which has begun to be resolved in court today. With any luck the Sonics will have a new owner before too long. A new owner invested in the team & the community willing to hire a decent coach.
But thank god we have a decent GM. Better than decent. Seriously. And one thing about Presti... that guy is tight lipped. Fact. This so called "source". Bet you can't provide a link with a quote from Presti. Or anyone on his management team. Another thing about Presti. That kid is unbelievably analytical in his approach. He'll have fourty seven reports on twenty six players colated in triplicate. But all stamped "TOP SECRET" and stored in the safe when he's not reading them. I'm not even making this up. Much.
Like I told one of your other Miami buddies, wouldn't it be be so ironic if Heat pick Beasley, because you know they're going to have to actually pick a player this year, and then what if Minnesota picks Lopez. Flash forward to draft night, Riley's war room...
Ring. Ring. Riley picks up the phone. "Hi ya, Pat! It's me, Sam. Ya, Sam Presti. Ya, we're still in Seattle. Nope, not leaving anytime soon. So how's it going? Great. Hey, I'm on the clock here. Just had a quick question for you... you still like Mayo? Ya... you still got that deal with Memphis all set up? Ok, oh well, never mind. Anyway, you know, I've been thinking... as much as everyone's been saying I like Bayless, lately I'm thinking I like Mayo more. I'm just not sure. Tell you what. I'll stick with Bayless, let Mayo go to Memphis and you can have your deal. But I get a piece of the action. So give me..."

So give me ...
The Grizzlies pick at #28 and I will send you back a couple late second round picks. I know that with #24, #28 and #32 in a deep draft I can move up into the teens and take the guy I want to go with Bayless, Green and Durant.

Posts like this make me realize how little some of the posters here understand and/or watch basketball.
