If OJ Mayo is selected by Miami at #2. Would you guys tarde Chris Wilcox, Wilkins, #4, and a future first for the rights to Michael Beasley and Antoine Walkers crappy contract?

I would.

Walker's contract isn't that crappy, it has a team option after next season.

there's no fair price to pay for the comical amusement of having antoine walker on your team..

in a cocaine heartbeat. I'd also throw in Jeff Green. This is a 2-3 player draft. If Miami is dumb enough to take Mayo and if Rose goes #1 as expected... the Sonics would be wise to trade anything short of Durant for Beasley. Beasley may be better than Durant.

in seriousness it's kind of shocking to me how most people here are writing off beasley. he'd be better than anyone on the sonics right now except durant, and even then there are valid arguments that he's at least comparable to KD.. if not better. he certainly had better numbers.

sonics aren't competing anytime soon, a core of durant/beasley is ridiculous especially since they're buddies or whatever. if i were presti i'd trade anyone except durant for him.

Yeah I mean really... the idea of including Jeff Green is going to flip some people out, but seriously... Beasley is a franchise player. Sonics should make every effort possible to get him. It'd be like having two Kevin Durants. If a team is dumb enough to trade Beasley for the #4 and Jeff Green... MAYBE we can get some mediocre shooting guard back as well. I'd like to move Durant to SF and Beasley at PF

In my view, Green is still a critical part of the equation both in terms of skills and demeanor. Together Durant and Green ease my concerns over what direction Beasley will take as he continues to mature as a player and a person.

My whole thing is... if the Sonics somehow managed to land Beasley (not happening anyways... ) they now have two franchise small forwards. You can play Durant at SF and Beasley at PF. Do people expect to bring Jeff Green off the bench? Seems like a waste of a #5 pick. Durant at SG, Green at SF, Beasley at PF?.... kinda dumb. It's too bad, because Ray Allen at SG, Durant at SF and Beasley at PF would be pretty interesting, but... I think they would be wise to trade Jeff Green if they somehow landed Beasley.

But seriously, I might do that, but the future first would have to be San Antonio's '09 pick, and lottery protected at that (just in case the starting 5 try some wierd huddle and crash their knees together, putting them all out for a year)

I don't think Minny wants Beasley, so all we'd have to do is beat out their other offers-- and the #4 plus Weezy is pretty good. That may be all it takes. I think Wilcox has more value than a lot of people are thinking.

If we throw in Green, then we shouldn't have to give up the #4... Way too much.

We get to pick a pf (beasley) and a sg/pg (Mayo/Westbrook) with our 2 and 4 pick.
With Durant staying at sf, we have lock three young starters in those positions.

Dont see Miami doing that though.

Beasley is good but so are Mayo and Bayless. I would trade up to get Beasley but you are asking for too much. Wilcox and the #4 ought to be more than enough for one spot.

Absolutely not to including Green, but as originally proposed I would say yes. Durant, Green and Beasley would be filthy. I'd worry a little that there's enough basketball to go around for Durant + Beasley, but I think it could be made to work especially with a facilitator like Green between them. If you could surround that core three with the right role players (and Sonics already have some), then it's just a matter of time before a championship.

I like the idea of Durant, Beasley and Green in the same lineup, regardless of position. I don't know if it would work, but I like the idea. It's innovative, not dumb.

Ginobili comes off the bench in San Antonio and is deemed part of their core. There are plenty of players who play 30mpg, coming off the bench. The waste would be including Green in the scenario because you thought he played the same position as Durant or Beasley and had less value than his skills, character and production indicated.

I think Beasley, Durant and Green in the same lineup is freaking brilliant. KD's ultimate position may just be something like Roy or TMac where the ball is in his hands and it doesn't matter what they list his position at. Beasley's position now is PF and as he matures he'll move to SF. Green's position is SF now and as he matures he'll slide to PF.

The fact is, these are all big, mobile rebounding players with length that can defend and knock down shots inside and outside. Why not play them all at once? We're talking about having four players on the court over 6'8" and you're saying that's a negative?

Durant, Beasley and Green will have trouble guarding smaller and faster SG.

but at the end of the day, Durant Beasley and Green in the same line up sounds really tempting.

Play Zone, everyone is long and transitions would be smooth.

I could also see Durant, Green and Beasley on the court with a point guard and scoring guard. Teams often go small when looking for a match up advantage.

Also if we can manage to pick up Kyle Weaver we could have a huge lineup with him as a shadow defender during zone while bringing the ball up the court on offense.
