expansion or relocation team?

Post#1 » by bruiser89 » Thu Jul 3, 2008 6:28 am

but i really dont like the idea of an expansion or getting a relocated team....i mean really i dont think i would even support a new team...as far as i know the team i grew up loving and always enjoying to watch has gone and i wont support any other team that comes up here....its to irritating... really hurt bad....cheers to the years we had and the memories that will never leave our mindi feel betrayed by the city..like if they knew they were gonna do this (because apparently they had been in negotiations for a while about a buy out) then why even go into a court case...ridiculous..

i think the most irritating thing was when clays conference started out with the words i think ill be haunted with "we made it" i dont know why...but it really hurt

but overall im not interested at all in a new team...i dont get why david stern is giving us the option of having an expansion team when he could of jus given clay bennett that same option....

david stern- worse nba commisioner IMHO

but cheers to the years we had and the memories that have left an impression in our heart and minds

I would post something really rude, but in deference to the fans that are hurting and I really feel sorry for, I'll just leave it at "it's not going to happen", at least in the next 7 years.

I really hope it's not going to happen to you(as we've just been through it), but seing what happened here, everything is possible to a franchise that is not located in NY, L.A., Chicago or Boston....

I would rather have an expansion team so no other city has to have the same thing happen to them.

Likewise. Let the Grizzlies work out in Memphis.

But here's a hypothetical. What if, to no one's surprise, OKC sucks as a market, Durant and all the other stars bolt at the first opportunity, no one wants to sign there, the team is a perennial loser and they can't sustain support after the honeymoon ends. That's the one time I would think about taking another city's team.

^If that happened, that would be like we stole our team back. That will never be OKC's team IMO..it will forever be our's. They didn't earn it the right way.

An expansion team. I'm glad Clay isn't planning on keeping the name and team colors, that way we could have the green and gold Sonics back in Seattle somewhere in the future.

There was some dbag from okc on first take on espn this morning that said hes not sure how the attendance is going to do after the first two season.

Durant will bolt after two season I'll put money on it. I know no one cares about Damien Wilkins but i think he'll be oupting out of his deal. If no one was read his quote today in the times hes pissed about having to go there.

Yeah but he gets to take our records, he gets to make copies of our banners and championship trophies. Why the hell do they get all of that? If we ever do get a team why the hell do we have to share our records with them?

That's true. And this way you wouldn't be putting a city through what you went through. It would probably take LA residents years to notice the Clippers left. They'd never connect it to the Sonics palying up in Seattle.
