Fantasy Basketball

Post#1 » by BenjaminH » Wed Sep 24, 2008 10:46 pm

I thought this could use its own thread ...

BenjaminH wrote:We will play fantasy basketball together and should leave this board open for discussions, which, in turn, will probably lead to a lot of discussions about other teams and players.

Who's interested?

The German Sonics are going to lose again!

(Perhaps we should start a new thread for Fantasy Basketball; I almost didn't check this one. Also, does anybody, by chance, have the email list from last year. It would be great to invite all of the same players - even those who probably won't check this board, like Blackery and Farmer Man.)

Also, let me remind you that I won last year. I don't exactly know what "bragging rights" are or how they work, but I'm trying to take advantage of them.

Yo, i'm a go.
does anybody, by chance, have the email list from last year.

If you remember your login, you can still access last year's league and manager emails through your profile. Only you and Spinal Tap/ex-Hippie had their emails hidden. Commish Sweezo would have it as well.

This is the year of the Greedy Bastards.

It's going to be hard to organise without being able to IM one another? I really couldn't care less about the NBA, I'm going to follow the local product here or Euroball if I can when Football finishes this weekend. I'll still play if there is a league though. However I'll probably lose interest in it pretty quickly.

Yeah, maintaining a full season's worth of interest is pretty hard for me. At some point, regardless of record, I end up not following it.

So, you're in? It just won't be the same without that so-called charm you're always talking about.

Thanks for the idea Dick. I'm sending an email to all of the managers now. I would have done this sooner, but I've just been so busy. Anyway, I'm looking forward to another good season!

League name: NBA GM 3

Since it's obvious there won't be enough for our own league, I suggest the few that are interested try to hop on another league together. The Greedy Bastards just joined this one. Ten spots still up for grabs.

Say, BenjaminH... would you happen to be Benjamin IV, with a Dutch middle name?

I've always wondered the origin of my middle name. So to answer your question honestly, I have no idea. But, yes, when we exchanged emails to discuss trade proposals our names were revealed by our email accounts. That is how I discovered your true identity.

I didn't see Dick's league until now. I hope there's room.

Alright, I'm in. I see that this is a head-to-head league, which I know nothing about. If anybody would like to make a second league (the other kind), I'd be very interested. We may not have enough people by ourselves, but perhaps we could do the same thing.
