I agree with you but what’s frustrating is our front office says one thing and does another. I’d be fine with sucking and focusing on development. Except that we traded for Poeltl, tried to resign FVV, pivoted to Schroeder, and even yesterday’s trade smacked of win now. Don’t get me wrong, yesterday’s trade was great. But our front office is trying to do both (win and develop) and currently doing neither. My guess is we evaluate for the next 6 weeks and then make more changes by the deadline. If I were a betting man, I’d say we’re likely to be too far out of this playoffs come February. We are set for a west coast trip that won’t be for the faint of heart.

Scottie had 7 points until like the last 7 minutes of the game.

Show up earlier and maybe the team won’t be in that situation.

... and if he doesn't score 15 in the 4th, they lose by 17. If he doesn't get 2 steals, they lose by 20+. Personally I'd think maybe Poeltl getting 6 points wasn't too much to ask? Oh well

Poeltl had a 5% usage rate and still created like 10+ points off his passes alone. Asking Poeltl to score more is just weird he missed 1 layup but in general has been excellent around the rim when giving the chance.

Poeltl is a role player, Scottie is an Allstar who controls his own offense. If Siakam scored most of his points in garbage time after doing nothing and Scotfie had the 20 point 3rd quarter people would be (rightfully) complaining about Pascal.

The thing is, what would Darko prove if he gets the entire season?
It's not like it's a small sample size at this point. It clearly was not a good hire ..

I hope they ran this by him before picking a direction.

Omg first everyone wants to blow it up now it’s I hope they ran this by him? Achiiwa was the worst player on the team, and og was capped out looking for the max… I thought everyone wanted GMs to do their job properly and leave emotions out of it…

It's the new generation. They look to be unhappy all the time. We ain't winning a chip or anything this year. The rest of the season is essentially useless and just a rebuild/development season for Scottie.

Terrible team beats a bad team. Don't really get how that's a humiliation. In a 10 game series, the Pistons would beat the Raptors 2 or 3 times.

Celtics on the other hand, would have felt some humiliation if they didn't manage to beat Detroit a few days ago.

Poeltl was soft but he was not the reason why they lost lol.

there's no finger pointing on the loss b/c it was due to defense - which is a team wide problem.

on barnes - he's great but if he wants to be the franchise, then he can't be checked out for 3/4's of the game. his body language was pretty bad for most of the game and was complaining alot about non-calls. obviously the trade affected him but as he matures as a person, he needs to understand that these type of things can't happen.

more moves may happen but as of now, the season is about iq + scottie and currently siakam and see how they mesh...along with rj. the team focus has completely changed in 1 day.

Ouch.

As long as that pick is in top 6 it’s worth it.

I knew we'd lose need to get rid of the softness on this team

Scottie was close friends with Dowtin too. He may feel management is targeting his friends

Kawhi actually made similar comments recently. Something about how we wouldn't have treated him this good if he re-signed.

Can you clarify what Kawhi said. I don't follow.

He didn't actually drop our name, but I assume it was us. He was basically saying that the "star treatment" would have went away as soon as he re-signed with us.

Interesting. I love Kawhi but his first few years as a Clipper there were rumblings he got too much star treatment.

It was a big part of why he left SA. It supposedly started when he saw how other star players got treated at the all-star game in Toronto.
