I should add I currently do not believe that Masai is getting a crap platter for him, I think it's all smoke from teams who aren't serious and trying to drive price down.

What is the "smoke" you are talking about? Masai publicly has not been amicable to Siakam since last summer - does that keep his price from being driven down?

These 4 will be great together.

Ya I think that's why Masai wants to pay Siakam less than the max because Siakam is clearly not a 50M/year type player. My problem is that he should have figured this out last deadline and traded him if he wasn't going to extend him to a max. Just in a horrible spot right now.

I recall Siakam was All NBA level 2021/2022 (after coming back from shoulder surgery) and then was on a tear to begin 2022/2023 season, until Nurse ran him out of gas. Masai clearly thought Siakam was worth the max (or even supermax if he made All NBA again) at that point (Feb 2023) and got Poeltl to help Siakam play less center.

If westbrook could be moved, so could Pascal if they wanted to in a couple years. Keep in mind though that to win a title you (normally) need multiple all-nba level players. At least 2. So if they have 2 in Pascal and Scottie, why would you trade one of them? Especially one vocal about staying in Toronto!

Why not see if him and this new young group around him can do something? If you trade him, everyone is just going to key in on Scottie more. But his 3pt shot has come back around, and when he can knock down open 3s he is a force offensively.

We can already see that those 2 can play with Quick and RJ, and all 4 are capable of having big time scoring games. I think they are only 1 piece away from being a contender again. They need a starting 5 that can rebound, protect the rim and be respected behind the arc. They need to find a way to turn Poeltl into one of those players without killing their new found depth.
