4th quarter Wunderkid - Jack of All Trades
I find this statistic very interesting... And enjoyable to watch and analyze...
Total PTS, REB, AST, STL & BLK in the 4th quarters this season!
Some facts...
Scottie B. is the only player in the Top-8 that appears in ALL five categories...
On the Top-8 list for the points, all players are older than Barnes... Some of them are much older (Lebron, DeRozan, Curry, Giannis...)
I am really surprised with all these Barnes' numbers, and I don't have an idea what's the reason for him to be so strong in the 4th quarters... In other quarters, most of the time, he is just staying at the corner and 'watching' the game!:)!
Here it is:

Barnes has what they call "IT".....the natural physical ability and mental makeup to elevate his game when it matters.
His offensive game is still raw in a lot of areas....once he shores up his ball handling and footwork, he'll end up being a top 15 player.

Yet too often his teammates don't look to him or set him up properly to take advantage in the 4th. Would be even better if they had more offensive cohesion.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Best player in the league. Give it a few years. Find a defensive stretch big for Pascal and develop Barrett and IQ as secondary guys.

I keep saying this, but Jarace Walker is shooting >50% from 3 in the G-League. (roughly 3x Gradey Dick's percentage).
Yes, I'd love to get Mathurin and/or Rembhard as well. But let's just do this thing. Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

Can he protect the rim well? He's only about 6'8? Can he match up against Embiid, Gobert, Porzingis, etc?

Re: 4th quarter Wunderkid - Jack of All Trades
I mean Scottie Barnes is 2nd in 4th Q mins, JJJ in MIA is in 1st.
Giannis as an example has played 20 less mins.
SGA has played 135th most mins, 145 less than Scottie, but putting up 69 TS%, 18.6 ASTr. Scottie is 62.4 TS% (amazing still), with a higher ASTr (23.1) on less USG. Hes been great (to your point), but counting stats dont mean much IMO for a guy whos playing more with less USG load.

Right... Giannis has played 19.6 minutes less... And it's not too much for 36 or 37 games played... It's about a half minute difference!
I'm not saying that Barnes is more productive than Giannis, Lebron, or Curry, but he is only 22 years old and the time is in his favour... Those numbers above are more than impressive!

Where does he rank in 4th quarter FTA?
It is crazy for a guy to play that much, be all over the court, and feel like he is never at the line.

Yeah, he has only 1.43 FTA per one 4th quarter...
But he can't have more with refs like last night.

He is clearly one of the most impactful players in the league.
