Boucher's skillset is not in demand for playoff teams (need either strong shooting or good perimeter defense)
Because of that and the fact his contract runs for 1 more year, we will need assets attached to offload him

Funny, because he was dominant in our last PO game as a franchise.
The only reason we were in Game 6 at halftime was because Boucher had 19/9 at half time.
Boucher is a perfect 9th/10th man IMO. There are nights he will come in and just win you a half or even a game. I doubt you need to attach assets to get rid of him. He is a neutral contract.

Re: Chris Boucher
I'm not really a fan. I like the core guys to be able to play multiple positions. He doesn't really have that capability. As a result, he'll never be a top 8 rotation guy. You can't have that much money tied up to a guy that isn't getting a lot of minutes. You need to be able to fill those positions for cheap.
The contract made sense when he signed it. You were hoping for some more development, but he is what he is.

I think he is more closer to 7th/8th man.
And I think we may able to get a 2nd round pick from him.
I feel he has more demand than Trent in an expiring.

Yeah, Boucher is not going to require assets to get off of:
1) we have absolutely zero incentive to do so
2) he makes $10.8m next year, which isn't that much for an 8th-9th man. Think of how many teams have $8-9m in matching unplayable flotsam on their rosters. Unlike those guys, Boucher can actually play, which almost assuredly makes him neutral salary. I'd bet there are multiple teams that would trade their flotsam for a guy who can actually play rotation minutes in the playoffs.
If Boucher were made available for expiring filler someone would bite.

This summer we have real cap space - do we want to use it? If so clearing Boucher opens up a max slot in cap space.
In reply to Yp, Boucher has real positive value when he's motivated like 2022 Jan - March, he was almost a game changer on most nights - and a big reason for our 48 wins that season. I hated him during that stretch as I'm tWo. That was motivated by his pending FA. But his recent play is nothing like that.
Also, when Boucher was effective on the court, he was high energy, crashing offensive boards and taking charges. Those are hustle big type skill set, not in demand unless he can consistently bring it like 2022 Jan - March

He 46th in the league in charges taken and (although his MP is to low to qualify) would be 25th in the league in offensive rebounding rate.
The guy is still a solid low maintenance role player. He would look really good on a team like Boston where he can play the 4 at times next to a spacer like Kristaps/Horford.
