Flynn and Precious Appreciation Thread

Darko really tried to give Flynn and Achiuwa many chances to play through the ups and downs.

Flynn got an uptick of minutes compared to last year, 13 mins to 15.3 mins. You can tell he wasn't playing scared under Nurse and the pecking order.

Achiuwa was given more responsibility, Darko even used him as a hub passer like Poeltl on those darko's pet alleyoops play.

Flynn will barely play but I'm hoping coach Thibs can get more out of Precious defensively.

He could threaten to never play him again if he dares try to try and create something with the ball.

Precious' not a Thibs kind of player, he plays with no disciple but I could see Thibs warming up to Malachi as he plays under control and follows orders like a good soldier.

Two and a half years after starting that thread, I no longer think he’s a scrub but he’s very close to being one. Poor efficiency overall despite being good at shooting threes, terrible on-ball defense, lack of ballhandling, lack of playmaking, lack of rebounding… Lack of everything, really.

Last place you want to be with Thibodeau is deep on the depth chart. He might see garbage minutes if NY can win enough games cleanly otherwise, I wouldn't bet on it. They wanted IQs minutes for someone else who was languishing. Time will tell. If they acquire some guys with picks they may have to release a player.

Every summer Gary posts his summer workouts on the beach and watching him play in Rico runs, hasn't gotten better and actually declining. It's too bad his plantar fasciitis in his contract year.

Seems like it got locked initially because posters were starting to pile on others for criticizing Grent at the time (early 2022). Hopefully that doesn't happen again.

He can only shoot mid range and threes. There isn't any other stand out talent. Powell on the other hand shot better from 3 and finished at an elite level. There's even argument that Powell was a better ball handler. We never use Gary like a true guard but he can't provide elite movement shooting either. He is a scrub and I'd be surprised to see him making 10+ M next season. Flynn isn't that much worse than him.
