Bobby says that Scottie projects as a "really unselfish hub with #1 or #2 ball handling duties". He said their focus is to surround him with players that compliment that skillset.

Obviously they can’t be too confrontational when they have guests like Bobby on. But I did appreciate the attempt by Will to discuss the delayed rebuild around Scottie. Bobby avoided answering but it was still a good attempt. I think what’s awkward in these interviews right now is the elephant in the room is the pick this year and clearly the Jakob Poeltl trade having a major impact. Feels weird when it’s avoided and I’m guessing Bobby said he’d come on only if they didn’t ask about it.

Toronto’s next steps
Could Bruce Brown still represent an option for the Lakers this summer? The Raptors told multiple teams that Toronto wanted a first-round pick for Brown before the deadline, and Brown was certainly prepared to be traded himself, league sources told Yahoo Sports, before Toronto ultimately held on to the versatile guard. Los Angeles and New York were two teams who’d shown interest in Brown this past offseason at smaller dollar figures than Brown’s two-year, $45 million offer from Indiana. New York would certainly seem out of this equation after its Thursday work.

The fact Toronto holds a team option for Brown’s $23 million salary for 2024-25 will still afford the Raptors plenty of options, as soon as the NBA Draft on June 26, for other teams that would like to acquire Brown. There will be plenty of cap minutiae there, as the Raptors would have to pick up Brown's option in order to facilitate a trade. For as long as Brown’s future remains uncertain, league personnel have always advised to keep an eye on Denver considering avenues to bring the former Nugget back to the franchise he helped capture the 2023 NBA title.

The Raptors do have plans to keep Kelly Olynyk beyond this season, sources said. Olynyk is on an expiring contract and arrived in Toronto alongside Ochai Agbaji for a first-round pick. It’s now clear Utah never had serious interest in returning Brown in that deal framework. For all the chatter about the Jazz flirting with becoming a buyer at this deadline, the Jazz are left very well positioned to renegotiate and extend All-Star forward Lauri Markkanen this summer.

Considering how bad our culture and talent has gotten, I feel like it's important to build from the ground up. You gotta have solid teammates that know how to play and will make the right plays not just look for a bucket or have low iQ plus bad attitude.

My only beef tbh is not getting enough for Siakam I think that was a missed opportunity and I know you can say the same about Fvv but it became addition by -.

Hopefully guys continue gelling and we continue to build and the goal should be to get someone better than Barnes whenever that is hopefully sooner rather than later. Then we'll be cooking.

same here. you have to hit these trades out of the ballpark and i feel we should've gotten at least one prospect from indiana. but whatever...lets move on and start rebuilding.

Yo read my posts before you go yapping. Keep quiet if you don’t know what you’re talking about. It’s usually wise.

Yo I read the post & I replied about that specific post. Are you okay? You can't force me to be quiet, get out of your feelings and either respond accordingly or don't, lol don't try to be a tough guy on the internet

Not trying to be a tough guy at all. I’m irritated with people who try to call other posters out, posters on their holier-than-thou bull with absolutely no logic.

You replied..first thing “you guys wanted a teardown” to my post. Do you know what I wanted? And how I wanted it done? No. So why are you replying to me?

“You don’t get to dictate what you get back in a teardown “. Do you read your own posts before posting? Ridiculous nonsense

Agbaji may not have the upside we'd prefer, but he is still a valuable prospect that's part of the Siakam return. Also, Brown will bring back either an additional prospect or pick(s). So, the Siakam return SO FAR is Brown, Agbaji, Nwora, Olynyk, and 2 firsts, which is 3 rotation players, 2 firsts, and a low level prospect, with more to come. Not a home run, but still a pretty solid base hit.
