hot take maybe but I'm optimistic enough to think he will be our gtjr replacement next year

I think he can be our next Fred. Another undrafted success story!
I'm thinking JFL as our GTJ replacement.

Limited minutes but I have yet to see DJ Carton take a single selfish shot or some horrible misplay.

Every time he's checked in he's played good individual and help defense, facilitated and moved the ball on offense, and only taken the best possible shots available to him after gauging whether he can get a teammate a better look first.
Game flow matters and the plays Carton made when he first checked in last night prevented the Warriors from pushing the deficit to 16+ and putting the game out of reach.

You get this kind of under control play and awareness from a 10-day guy you keep him until you can get him a permanent roster spot.

The dude plays real cool and I could have sworn I saw him chewing gum when he was on the floor. Wasn't as evident last game but I am quite certain he did when he scored his first bucket in the first game he checked in with us. 100% in on this guy!

Bruce Brown is questionable for tonight's game so hopefully that means many minutes for Carton.

I’m up for seeing anyone other than Brown…even Gary

I'd love to see Carton get some regular minutes. If Brown doesn't play tonight, Carton should get quite a few of Brown's minutes. It's also possible that with Barnes out, Olynyk ends up in the starting lineup and we see Jontay Porter back in the rotation.

Quickley / Carton
Trent / Dick
Barrett / Agbaji
Olynyk / Boucher
Poeltl / J.Porter

I get the interest in Carton, but I’m far more interested to see what JFL can do. Dude was clearly too good for the g league. He simply tore it up.

Is he better suited as a pg or sg? I’d love to see if his scoring prowess can show out in the big boy league.

Now that we’ve converted him to a regular roster spot and given him a two year deal, shouldn’t we prioritize playing him over a 10 day converted to a 2 way?
