Can you play Gradey Reed Dick on the floor at the same time as GTJ, and not have a massive negative net rating?

I think it actually could be a Calderon vs Ford kind of situation without the debate, as everyone would prefer Dick get the opportunity.

I have no issue with them playing together. That’s some lights out shooting and spacing to surround Scottie with.

Ehhhh this does not seem fair.

Arguably his best season for us was starting on the 48-win team. Shockingly (or not), role players do not look/perform as good when the talent around them starts to falter. Same reason why guys like Caldwell-Pope were "bad" on the Pistons but good on the Nugs or Lakers.

Agree on the role player comment but disagree on Trent. He did perform well that one season but there were so many crazy factors as to why ourbrecord was boosted, mainly our border policy keeping players away from playing in Toronto.

He doesn't play enough defense to be considered a guy you want on a winning team, which is probably why no one has offered us a damn thing for us the past year or so.

Or because he is just a role player - outside of elite teams looking for depth or a final piece, role players almost never have anything of substance traded for them. It is why we got PJ tucker for 2 seconds back in the day, Buddy Heild just went for 2nds and salary, Terry Rozier for a lottery protected pick etc. Generally role players are not moved for much.

Teent has been stuffing his stats when games become meaningless and is a total no show when games actually matter.

Everything about him screams "losing type player" but even with that said, I would still take him back on a 3/45 deal. Simply because he's still only 25 years old and could have value if he isn't totally sucking by the trade deadline.

Our team does not have enough talent to just let guys go. We have shooting deficiencies, and more than enough minutes to handle Gary and Gradey.

It is not a one or the other, both have their place if we want them to.

Gary reminds me of a lawn mower with a possible magneto issue. One day there is hardly enough power for the blade to cut the grass and a week later, everything is running like a fine tuned engine. How do you pay someone like that, that can be so inconsistent...
