It's a different story if we give out a ton of minutes to them next season, but so far, we still have both BB and Jak, so I'm still not convinced.
Masai never starts the season on a tank.
They'll evaluate the first half of the season and then trade BB/Jak at the deadline.
Maybe his thought is to do what we've already done: build a good team (not a great team) like Lowry/Derozan era, kind of like what Indiana is right now, and then make a trade to become contenders (i.e. Kawhi).
I'd rather us tank and get Cooper Flagg/Ace Bailey to pair with Scottie. I think then you have two potential all-NBA players and/or top-20 players, which you need to win a ring.
Okay the Lowry DD team was very good not great, but it was 10-11 deep before the Kawhi trade. Norm was the 10th man. I think posters underestimate how hard it will be to build a roster that good to be in a position for a Kawhi type trade. The roster now is not close to that.
I suppose if a superstar was drafted next year rather than having to wait for Kawhi 2.0, then that changes things.
yeah thats my point
lets just go celtics route and get scottie his jaylen brown running mate
