eh. We'll see. I think everyone realizes that Davion is a journeyman at this point who was just dumped by the team that drafted him and got a good 3 years look at him. I dont think he's given anything and its not entirely clear to me that he actually is better than top g-league talent.

And the fit problem persists. I just dont see how we have room for 2 defensive guards who dont do much offensively than spot up and hit the occasional 3, especially when one of them barely breaks 6 feet.

We'll agree to disagree. You can say he was dumped from SAC, I can say we purposely identified a PG who was available that we scouted in the past and would like to get a real look at.

I mean its not really an opinion. He was absolutely dumped by the Kings. Him and Vezenkov werent worth the salary they were being paid to Sacramento and they paid 2 2nd rounders to get off of them.

Our motivations are seperate. But considering he's been in the league 3 years and is a small guard without real explosiveness/athleticism/3pt shooting...i cant imagine why anyone would identify him. There are few teams in the league where he's a guaranteed rotation player.

Or Vezenkov was definitely not in rotation for the kings and they are cash strapped so they had to attach Mitchell and two picks to get off of that deal. They proceeded to draft a guard replacement, who's currently out 6months with a shoulder injury.
I mean seeing how we have buyout rumours for one player while Mitchell is talking about a leadership role, it's fairly obvious who we wanted.

The guaranteed former lottery contract guy is going to get every chance to show himself over the minimum 2nd round pick & the 2way recipient. It's just a #s game at that point... GL to all 3 of em tho. I like them all as players/prospects

He's not a journeyman yet after just 3 seasons and one change in teams.

I agree...he hasn't panned out as a mid-lottery pick should but he deserves a chance to see if he can show something before his rookie contract ends.

Kyle Lowry would have been written off after Memphis traded him to Houston and in Houston apparently he had issues with coach Kevin McHale.

Davion will be the primary backup. We shall see if he sinks or swims in Toronto.
