NBA as a business model isn't that big $ wise. So, sports "transforming" Africa definitely falls into the ancillary lanes. Several African nations have tons of growth paths already and are rapidly growing right now. These business segments dwarf anything sports can provide.

But I’d be at least calling to offer them Yak for Robinson and their 25’. Idc if it’s a late 1st, there’s almost without doubt gonna be a steal or two that falls in this next draft.

If you make a deal with NYK for salary it feels like it has to be Poeltl / Brown for Randle / Robinson with Randle going to a 3rd team.

NYK has to be done with him now... right?

Randle isnt a playoff guy, but they still need him in the RS. That isnt a team that can really score without him. OG/Bridges arent 2nd option level players

Not a bad idea, but with each suggestion part of me dies inside as we watch the Knicks keep adding Toronto pieces.

It makes it harder to out and out hate the Knicks these days with them having OG and Precious. Plus, they are the only team that can play Boston who I hate even more.

Olynyk, Brown, Boucher, Fernando, Temple all vets taking up roster spots that could go to high level prospects. Right now Dick and Walters are the only two first round prospects that you can reasonably say there’s still significant growth potential.

The majority of our rookies are second round picks which have a low track record of even staying in the league so anything you get from them is a nice bonus. It would be great if we 1-2 more first round prospects on our roster and 2-3 more future first round picks coming from another team.

Boucher, Fernando and Temple aren’t rotation guys. High end prospects and their agents don’t just sit at the end of the bench; they ask for trades.

Agbaji is a first round lottery pick going into year 3. These are the gettable first rounders on rookie deals that are out there. Masai can’t make other GMs to trade their first round prospects to us.

2-3 more future first would have meant no IQ. IQ has more value than those picks today (assuming standard first rounders) so you have to make trade offs that are real. The trade off isn’t “no Temple”.

I'm wondering if Boucher can find a way back into the rotation. For all the talk about him not fitting into Darko's system, it might shock people that he was a +2.8 in on court per 100 and +11.2 in on/off per 100. That was the best mark by far of anyone still on the roster. Boucher has his issues with sticking to schemes especially defensively and inconsistent shooting but his hustle and energy out there makes up for a lot of those shortcomings and he's probably a bit underrated in terms of his impact towards winning.

I think the odds are low. Darko already didn't play him minutes despite the positive production. Also, he'll be 32 years old in January so not sure it's worth putting any effort into integrating him into the offense. He'll likely be gone for a 2nd or two into someone's MLE by the deadline.

Agree. I hate that they have a likeable team and players that I want to follow.

Jak for FRP(s) + Deuce and Mitch?

Helps the tank by giving us a good, but only available for half the season centre, gets us a younger player and maybe a couple picks. Kinda unlikely but would be a nice return that's for sure. Salaries might be a bit tricky though, I think NYK is struggling to be able to pay for KAT afterwards.

I'm all for trading Jak for FRP(s) and helping the tank, but the problem is NY doesn't have any good picks.

They have their 2026 FRP but can't trade due to Stepien rule. Even if they could it would be a very late pick anyways.

The WAS FRP is protected enough where it will likely just become SRPs (WAS will likely suck for a while lol).

I'm all for trading Jak for FRP(s) and helping the tank, but the problem is NY doesn't have any good picks.
