Dikembe Mutombo has passed away at age 58

I only really watched him when he was already "old" and past his prime. I knew of his reputation of being a great defensive center, but over the years more than his legacy as a basketball player I would hear about his legacy as a humanitarian and all of the great things that he was doing in Africa. So to me when I hear or see the name Dikembe Mutombo my first thought has always been "That's a great person" and not "He was a great basketball player".

It was really moving to see Masai talk about Dikembe with so much pride. Such a big loss not only for the NBA community but for the continent of Africa and the world at large.

May he Rest In Peace.
