Hey everyone, my name is Alex and I’m Kadar’s friend. He passed away a month ago and I’m in ruins over this He has quite the story, escaping a civil war in east Africa and immigrated here in the early 90s. I’ve never met someone who had degrees in chemical engineering and a PHD in musicology but also worked in finance. He was extremely grateful for his life and his only regret was not marrying his late wife earlier when they met because he knew she was the perfect person for him.

He was also a generous thoughtful person and a great friend to me. We met in high school, bonded over basketball and when he got a job with the team he talked about how much he loved it. He was a basketball junkie and would obnoxiously explain the game to anyone who would listen. His prediction is that Scottie Barnes is going to be the best player in franchise history.

I got to spend a ton of time with him in his last few days and he was at peace with his journey in life. I am truly going to miss my friend.
RIP to him and his wife.

Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I hope you are well Alex, and that posting here reminds you of what you loved about vulture. We're a community here... sometimes a pretty silly one, and with our share of arguments but we are, at our core, caring. You're a great friend, and it's a testament to Kadar's rizz that he attracted such people as you.

Rest in peace my fellow die hard Raptors fan. I love that everyone here, although mostly strangers that never met in real life, owns a piece of real estate in our hearts due to the common love for the team.

I don't post much. I did for a while, I suppose, but now I mostly lurk. I've been around a while, though.

If someone were to ask what I love in this world besides family, Raptors basketball might come up first. But I live in Oakland, CA; the only place I share the Raptors with anybody is on this board. This team, no matter how many action stars they sign, is a huge part of my life, and the only two touchpoints I have are the media and the people on this board. People I've never met in person, and most of whom I've never communicated with directly, make up much of the fabric of my life.

Which is to say, Vulture—so glad you found this place, and made a home here, for all of our sakes. We'll miss you.
