Not sure what the fuss is.
I have to admit, I was wrong on Edey. He's looked good. I thought he was going to be too slow at the pro level.
I think Raps fans can all agree that, if we had a magic wand and could swap Jak and Edey straight up we would. He's younger, cheaper and has room to grow. Jak has had a great season thus far, no doubt, but he's older, more expensive and has less years of control.
The thing I like most about Edey, and I think we miss on this team, is that he seems to care. He plays hard, and from all accounts puts in the work to be a better pro. We need that on this team.
Edey @ #32?

It almost looked as though the corner 3's were too close for him. He seemed to be long on them..
The only 3 he hit in the NCAA was from the exact same spot as the one he hit last night.
I still think he will be a 33% or better three point shooter at some point in his career..
He took two 3pt shots total in his entire 138 game college career.
He was in college and remains in the NBA Shaq-sized.
He can and should stay Shaq who shoots 80+% at the line and stay the hell away from long distance.
No. The plan is to develop his 3 point shot. This is clear. He is taking multiple 3 pointers each game. This is not Shaq's NBA anymore.
If Edey can eventually hit the three at 35% or more, he will become one of the most valued centers in the league.

* Props to the man, the myth, the legend......TZ.

9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

The "fuss" IMO is this is a fractured board with one side who almost always view the FO with rose colored glasses and the other side with a more critical view holding the FO with more accountability.
Edey is a rookie who's a starter on the 2nd best team in the West and is a candidate for ROY. By any measure, he has been a great pick for MEM. It's possible that Masai tanked hard last year to get Top 6 was to draft Edey. But because he the tank failed, suddenly it's like "he's only playing 20 min," etc to support the idea that if it was a mistake by the FO, it was next to nothing.
