Last game out of the 11 guys who played the most, he had the 2nd best +/-. Game before that 9 main guys played and he had the best +/-. Game before that, again team best +/-.

He isn't getting killed out there like some think. Yes he is poor defensively but when playing, he is going better than lots of others getting caved.

On offense, yes he has missed some shots inside he usually makes. But he is shooting 45% from 3 too that you can't ignore. Both numbers likely normalize as the season goes on. Maybe being hurt all year with a bad back and only playing 7 games impacts things. Hmm...

Turnovers, yup he has had too many. Get in line. They ALL have too many.

If traded, he will get value. Just watch. I have no issue saying I am wrong if he isn't.

Sorry man, I know you are a Raptors fan and I got respect because I’ve been a fan since 2001. Anyhow, you’re absolutely delusional if you think Raptors get anything in return for a player performing like this. No contending team wants a guy that can’t defend at a high level, turns the ball over and is a liability on offence. Raptors will have to give up assets to get rid of his contract.. but hey if you’re right and they get a second round pick or something, I will be happy for this team. I hope you’re right and I’m wrong. But I’ve seen this far too many times.. this is another Landry Fields contract. I like all this wishful thinking though.

Can we please just have one thread on this damn board with basketball discussion that doesn't involve taking shots at other posters and saying things like "you're delusional" or "you're an idiot" (or my favourite "your an idiot") or "you don't understand basketball"?

Just say you disagree and then explain why. The poster already said that he'd freely admit it if he turns out to be wrong. Belittling or insulting other posters just turns this board into a series of flame wars. I don't understand why so many people seem to think that this is necessary in order to get their point of view across.

I don't even think he's better than Branden Carlson at this point

between thad and now kelly o, masai showing a real love for washed up fowards. they obviously thought he may have value to a contender as a trade asset but I doubt other teams are completely blind.

at least he's an expiring next year so at worst he's just a glorified canuck haslem next season.

I'm pretty confident the FO had no real interest in trading him, and they got him specifically to provide that flexibility in looks and veteran experience to the lineup. I assume they have no issue keeping him for those reasons, but will take assets if someone wants to throw some at us.

His contract is only a concern if we wanted to pull off one of those very big trades involving most of our expirings. But if that's the case, I'd fully expect one of RJ or Jak to be in the deal to provide some of that value while offsetting some of the cap burden.

Nah, there are already reports out there that they are looking to deal him and Bruce. Who knows if they get any bites. But I agree that they're fine keeping him on for the next few years. Their eyes are set on the summer of 2026 when the FA class is looking to be a bit better.

Other veterans believed to be available for second-round draft compensation with 39 days to go until the trade deadline include Valančiūnas and Brogdon, Toronto's Kelly Olynyk and Bruce Brown and Utah's Jordan Clarkson.

Stein isn't some nobody so I'd think there's some validity to it.

Oh I know our vets are on the block. That includes Jak even with the posturing for a better return. It's more the idea that the FO is looking to dump him for salary or other reasons. If there's rumours of that happening it's likely because something bigger is getting cooked up. It's not the default position IMO.

Ok so we’re 7-26 so I get it’s natural for people to need a scapegoat. And yes, Olynk is 0-10 so he’s made himself a pretty visible target. That said, he’s taken 52 shots. Far from a decent sample size. He’s turning the ball over far more than usual but I think it’s fair to give him time to transition. Anyhow, who cares.
