Who says he can't shoot the 3? He shot decent in December and almost perfect the last 3 games. Seems like he's been working during the season and especially over the winter break.![]()
FVV is shooting 32.5% from 3 this year and 37% for his career. Shead is now shooting 36.4% from 3.
FVV was clutch for us but as a big minute starting PG he just was less efficient. Shead is the better player, his current FG% of 42.9% is better than any season that FVV has produced.
Statistics? In 4 years of college he shot 12.5% (virtually no attempts 0.9/g), 30% on 3.2/g, 31% on 3.9/g, and 31% on 3.8/g. All on a shorter 3pt line.
As for him shooting 36.4% this year and FVV shooting 32.5%, yeah he's taken 77 total 3p shots, if he misses 3 of those instead, guess what he's shooting, yeah 32.5%. Making any sort conclusion of such a nothingburger of a sample size is setting yourself for disappointment.
Jamal was also one of the main focus’ on defence in college. At the end of the day it looks like Jamal’s working on it, and it seems to be working.
Or, he's hit 3 more shots than he otherwise could have and would be a markedly poor 3p shooter. My point is that it is WAY too early to claim that after 28 made shots, someone is improved. That is beyond a small sample size.
Like man, I am the furthest thing from a FVV fan, but claiming that this dude is a faster FVV with better rim finishing, while playing 574 minutes as a 3rd string guard, on a team with 9 wins, is just so far from reality I don't even know where to start.
