Very nice man.

Terrible, terrible commentator.

I hear you. Hearing his voice is nostalgic for me since I tend to watch a lot of US feeds. In my old age I’m valuing good humans far more than exceptional skill because being good is a skill that takes effort.

Interesting. I care less about their quality as people and more about the role in which they interface with me. No patience for the crappy ones. I often have to watch Raps games on mute because the commentary is just too useless.

Totally fair. I don’t think Leo does play by play any more so that’s a plus. I also care more about the role in which people interface with me, but I really didn’t like Leo before and maybe I’m being kinder because he didn’t deserve that. I just find being kinder is the way, so I’m working on doing more of that.

Regarding the commentators: I would really really like to hear more in depth play breakdowns and descriptions of what the coach might’ve been thinking by changing a defense up or going to a specific set of plays. We don’t get much more than we already know and can see easily with the eye test. Heck even chatting about Darko putting his bench in to effectively lose a game is worth noticing. Not sure they’d ever admit to that, but it’s something to observe anyway.

I think the commentary isnt meant to appeal to the deep fan. It helps for radio broadcast, it adda more than background sound but it seems quite content hanging out at "casual fan" level.

I think it's great that it's legalized now, but, I think we need some sort of bylaw on this - sort of like how you're not allowed to smoke cigarettes indoors, or near the entrance of buildings etc.

I don't think it's possible to get a contact high outside. Believe me I've tried.

For sure. Do they simulcast? I’ve heard Paul and eric or whoever else they have on the fan or tsn1050 or whatever and I find that I enjoy the radio broadcast analysts a bit more.

I hear you on catering to the largest market and not the deep fan. Having the chance to listen to other feeds I feel we’re at the beginner level while other broadcasts are intermediate with the occasional splash of more. I don’t feel like I learn much from our broadcasts where I have learned a few things from others.

It's probably been a decade since I listened to a game on the radio, so I don't know if it's the same broadcast, tbh.

Yes, some of the more developed fan bases have a little bit more going on in their broadcasts and ours still feels like it's 1995. It's all empty-calorie stuff, for sure. I enjoy Jack and Devlin for their energy but I definitely don't learn anything in the process. Ah well; can't have it all, I guess, heh. That's what YouTube is for xD And here.
