One thing is for certain. Masai wanted to restock the cupboards, and he's doing a fine job so far! When this team is ready to compete in 2+ yrs we'll have a lot of assets to make a big move and have a team left over like in the Kawhi trade.

Based on what exactly? Dick has Value, Scottie has value, RJ is likely neutral, IQ is a negative asset at the moment, Ochai has one more year on his contract so his value will be determined by that next contract, and then what?

Walter is a massive unknown right now with low value, Shead is nothing, Mogbo is nothing, Battle is nothing. I have no clue how anyone can look at this set of players and think we'll be in a good spot in a couple years.

It's more realistic to say we'll be seen as a young team with above average potential in 2 years and ready to start competing in 4-5. Masai JUST started the tank. He's 2 years overdue. This is what happens. Rebuilds almost always aren't quick.

Yeah, but that is all dependent on who we draft the next two years, not the poo poo platter we are currently dining on.

After some thought….This is NOT the most talented young core we’ve had
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

We have a lot of hustle guys, guys who can create but no consistent shooters. We need to draft college players who can hit at .400 clip consistently, no more dime a dozen athletic hustle players, getting sick of that trend from Masai. The top 25 three PT percentage players in the league are all from winning teams and Masai traded Gary Trent who been consistently balling same with Norman Powell, is this even a surprise at this point. Masai needs to change his player evaluations sooner or later he needs to change path on team philosophy of acquiring shooting talent ahead of athleticism.

No, it is not.

Kyle and Demar
Pascal, OG, FVV
Vince, T-Mac (albeit short), but Vince, Alvin and Mo-Pete
Bosh and TJ/Calderon

This young core hasn't been together very long, so there's time to move up the ranks...but they haven't really done anything yet.

We're not going to be a 50+ winning team in the next 3-4 years. This team is missing everything what it needs to be competitive. We're not close to being a team like 2014/15 let alone 2015/16.

As much as I like RJ and Quick, they had one of the best two way trios in the Eastern conference brewing in Barnes, Pascal and OG. They were a Davion Mitchell at the point of attack, and a 7+ foot rim protector away from being absolutely foolish on Defense

I understand letting FVV walk after Houston offered him that crazy contract, but all they needed to do to stay relevant in the East was pay Pascal and OG instead of trading them.

Anyone can downplay the 10% odds of getting Wemby if we had just traded Fred instead of trading for Jak and tanking by shutting it down, but Masai looking at the possibility of Wemby/Barnes/Siakam/OG and saying "nah, let's see what the Fred/Jak p&r can do instead" is offensive to me not just as a fan of basketball, but as a human being in general.

Don't be silly, we are not getting Wemby, I doubt we are getting Flagg.
Getting the first overall pick is even harder than winning a championship, there is no formula to it.

Agree. This team is in a similar position to the 2011 or 2012 Raptors. A year or two away from .500 and another two away from >50 wins if everything goes well.

This team only wins in terms of young depth, but not top end talent. If we can combine the abilities of players under 25 together, I think the current roster takes the cake:

Scottie + Battle + Chomche = Scottie with great shooting ability and elite shot blocking and speed

RJ + Gradey + Mogbo = shut down defender with off-ball shooting ability and a hard driver to the rim

Quickley + Shead = PoA defender with a quick first step and dynamic 3 point shooting

Ochai + AJ Lawson + Ja'Kobe = elite role player
