According to the WSJ, U.S. Integrity sent only three alerts involving NBA games over the previous two seasons — two involved games that Porter was playing in; the other was one featuring Rozier.

Rozier has not been charged as it has not been determined by investigators whether he deliberately altered his performance during the game in question.

The whole Jontay case has always felt weird to me, does he deserve punishment for committing fraud, yes I dont see an issue with that, Im not qualified to determine if the punishment is fair either. My concern is how in bed the NBA and sports in general have been with gambling companies and how they constantly overencourage gambling.

Its always felt dirty to me. Gambling companies tilting the scales and profiting off of peoples misfortune is A-Okay but when a rich spoiled fringe NBA player does it, its like "Throw the book at him", which again I have ZERO problem with but this environment in sports culture is just slimey to me.

The thing with gambling companies, casinos etc., that I don't like is that they're allowed to say who's not allowed to gamble with them, for any BS reason. If you win money, they cut you off to "protect the game". But if you toss your life savings, they willingly accept and send you ads to tempt you to continue. They can blatantly rig the game against the consumer, but when the "consumer" tries to rig it the other way, it's criminal. I can't reconcile that hypocrisy.

L rizz move by the NBA to promote gambling. I guarantee that multiple NBA players have faced direct pressure from criminals who pressure them to throw games. IMO the league shouldn't promote gambling at all, but if they do they should be responsible for providing athletes with guarantees of their personal safety.
