Probably late to the game on this one as I just finished watching episodes 1 and 2.
I've had a healthy hatred of Richard Peddie since he cursed this franchise with his presence almost 30 years ago now.
But watching the first two episodes of this excellent documentary, I'm practically shaking with fresh hatred at this utter and complete ***hole. All he did every time his smug little face hit the camera was trash players, coaches, GMs and absolutely minimize any personal responsibility for any of the ridiculous garbage that went on during his watch.
Example, did you all know that he knew the Carter trade was horrible but he had to let it go through because otherwise hed have had to fire his GM? What a crock of ****. One of my lifelong dreams is getting to meet this turd so I can unload 25 years of pent up rage I have against him to his face.
Otherwise really enjoying this doc. Nice job getting sound bites from so many of the old Raptors.

My friends and I crank called him a few times back around 2004-2005. Found his name in the white pages. We used a payphone and he picked up every time. Good times.

Re: Raptors Delight - Richard Peddie
I was visiting my brother (non-sports fan) and he had Richard Peddie's book prominently displayed on his bookshelf. He may or may not have had a photo as well. Apparently he's big in the Canadian MBA scene? *shudder*
Anyway, it just about sent me into anaphylactic shock. Once I regained my senses, I went on a bit of a rant.
Not surprising that Peddie is trying to business-speak his way out of any responsibility for what happened during those years. I'm sure he generated value for shareholders.
As much as I may complain about some of the moves he's made, you'll (almost) never hear me even hint at getting rid of Masai, because I know just how much worse it can be.

The worst part of sports is when there’s an MBA suit who can speak the language of owners and media, and be able to sell mediocrity.
I can imagine Bryan Colangelo and Richard Perdue easily sweet talking the Rogers corporate heads.

Yep. For all his faults, at the very least we know that Masai actually cares about basketball, development, and winning. The people that wanted him fired over a couple of mistakes, over the course of a dozen years (he's been here 12 years, wow.), are probably the same kind of people who'd rather have a draft pick than a former all-star. The mystery luckbox appeals to them. All the best Presidents/GM's make mistakes, at least we have one who we know cares about our team and has the skills to make us a winner.
