NBA been trying to ruin Raps Tank - Refs favoring Raps

Post#1 » by anotherhomer » Wed Mar 5, 2025 3:39 am

These days, it feels like Raps are getting a fair whistle which is absolutely weird, like why would NBA want the only non-US team to win. To me, it feels suspicious and NBA low-key want to sabotage Raps tank.

So I decided to take a closer look, and came up with some interesting stats in the games before and after GM Bobby Webster conference, where he all but admitted that they are hoping for a favorable position in the lottery.

Basically since that conference, officiating been more favorable for Raptors, and the numbers back it up.

See this stat:
Previous 10 games before Bobby Conference on Feb 8
Raps FT: 215
Opponent FT: 263
Differential - 48
Number of games Raptors shot more FT than opponents: ONCE

Last 10 games after Bobby Conference
Raps FT: 231
Opponent FT: 226
Differential: +5
Number of games Raptors shot more FTs: 5 times!!

Per Statsmuse, Raps have a free-throw discrepancy of -4.3 per game, which is 29th in the league.
To suddenly jump to +0.5/game which is better than league average is almost unheard of.

Suddenly, Raps are shooting more FTs than opponents in half their games, versus one time in the previous 10 games before, while in games where there is a discrepancy, it's pretty close.

The only conclusion i can say NBA given orders to sabotage raps tank.

obviously true

Holy ****.

Nice to see the new annoying narrative you’ve found you’ll spam on every thread.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

People will hate this post, but I’ve thought the same thing lol. We’re being allowed to play a lot tougher on defense than we were at the beginning of the season. Our opponents routinely got more free throws than us in games and now suddenly we’re getting more unless it’s against a team that the NBA would want to big up. I like that you looked at free throws vs opponent in games rather the overall free throws which people use which is flawed. .

Maybe it’s a coincidence, but there has been a massive shift. If the games were called like this all season (this team has easily attacked the rim more than their opponent all season) we would at least be within striking distance of a playoff spot with a handful more wins imo.

playing poeltl reduced our chances of acquiring one of wemby/flagg/peterson by at least 10%. whoever traded for poeltl is the real saboteur of the tank.

I have been listening to opposing team commentators for this season, and yes, they pointed out slightly more questionable calls in favour to us lately.

I love a good conspiracy theory, but this is next-level. If they don't want us to win the lottery they can just rig the closed door draw. Also - refs are probably helping us because we aren't the favourite and they have money on the game.

Serious about these points.

Actually there is a very simple explanation for the change in FT differential. We are defending much better, which results in less fouls or more balanced foul calls by the refs.

Sorry to rain on your tin foil hat :)

Facing lots of bad teams, not sure if that has to do with anything. Also they massively bailed the Raps out when they were up 4 with 4 seconds left a few days ago.

hey i'd say the nba is doing more than it share to have a top draft guy here... they can't have that! We'll see how it goes!

I love conspiracies. So the draft is rigged, but the NBA is rigging Raptor games to make sure they get worse odds in the lottery. Makes perfect sense.
