Who knows, you might find find the best player of the draft with the first pick post-lottery.
Giannis, Kawhi
In a deep draft like this, we'll get someone good, because I think there might a few prospects masquerading as lottery talents.
I’m sure we’ll end up with a solid player but the odds of star obviously reduce more and more as you go further up.
Also Kawhi & Giannis aren’t great examples because they’re the exception not the norm and both of them were incredibly raw and had either incredible unforeseen skill (Kawhi) or physical (Giannis) development. It will be pure luck if that were to happen.

They need to bring him back imo
Feels like they just have an agreement he will be back if he can’t find other takers
It HAS to be the case. Otherwise they are doing him real dirty.

It's not that rare. Shai, who Masai was desperately trying to get into the draft to acquire (same with Giannis), is another bona fide MVP candidate - but may very well lose again to the guy who went 40th in his draft.
Doesn't have to be a top 10 superstar. Bam, Donovan Mitchell, Klay all went in the late lottery. Steph and Jamal Murray went around where we'll be drafting. Murray's had injury problems in the last year, but getting the equivalent to him on this team would be awesome. Or a Jrue-level PG - i.e. the type of guy who has led two teams to championships - would be a great pickup.
