Coco Costanza wrote:CBS Sports ran at article on the top five best teams for Flagg to land on, with the Raptors failing to make the cut. Their reasoning:

Nobody quite knows what the Raptors are doing. A few years ago they were a wing-heavy group with no true stars. They tore that team down to build, once again, a wing-heavy group with no true stars. Flagg would add to the budding versatility here, but what the Raptors need, like the Wizards, is a ball-handling guard to direct the offense. A few years ago, Masai Ujiri might've gotten the credit that Ainge and Morey do above. His last few transaction cycles have been shaky, though, so until the Raptors prove they have a definable direction, they're best not entrusted with a prospect like Flagg.

The part in bold seems a bit harsh.

Not a bit harsh, just utter bullsh*t lol

All this piece of garbage take is a not so subtle way of just saying "we don't want him in Canada". Forget that we already have an established starter and backup PG (to the point it might become a debate who's the starter long term)....

We are EASILY one of the top 5 franchises he can land on.

I'd admit that all of the Spurs, Rockets and Sixers (pukes in mouth) are probably better but after that I honestly think we'd be the best situation. Don't tell me the Heat, their core is actually quite a bit older than him now and who's considered their best player?! Herro? I'll Ingram 10x out of 10, for as much as some people are starting to hate on him, I'd honestly without bias take Scottie over Bam then we still have IQ, RJ, Yak and a ton of young depth. Ingram is on par with almost any 2nd option other than maybe LeBron in LA at this point. Then you still have the rest of the cast. He'd be walking right on to an instant Playoff team and the only thing that would dictate how far they go is how much Flagg had progressed but by the end of his rookie contract he could easily be in the hunt for a Finals' appearance. Again other than the other 3 mentioned, I don't really see other situations that top that.

But that's all a blab because we all know damn well that Silver & Co feel this way too, the absolute best we could pray for is top 2/Ace Bailey. In reality we know it's gonna come down to one Maluach (THE most likely pick) or Queen.

Bottom 7 locked up.

The 32-42% chance we completely blotched due to our dumb coaching and front office communications is a real kick to the balls. I hope Philly and Brooklyn win tomorrow. We need to finish with L's across the board and if players sulk let them.

RJ, Barnes, IQ, etc aren't contention level core pieces. There are arguments across the league of them being toxic or worst contracts.

We need this high pick whether it's hell or high water.

They are toxic because they are on a losing team.

They start winning and the narrative shifts.

The NBA is nothing if not fickle.

I highly doubt it.

He's still not up to NBA speed, it would be an absolute disaster if he were to play in the last 3-4 meaningless games only to risk getting hurt again. There's literally nothing for him to gain by doing that lol he's not a development project, getting buckets on bottom feeders won't do anything. I don't think the FO takes any silly risks like that.

But I was told that the FO would bring him back soon after the trade deadline and make a play-in push...

And I was told bottom 5 was a lock and wins in Jan wouldn't hurt us.

Moral of the story, maybe people shouldn't talk in absolutes....either way.

When I voted(7th) I said I thought that 30 win mark is what we need to hope teams push past. Could end up needing it to be 31-32.

The Lebron year I believe we had a 13 percent chance at landing the first overall pick, I checked this stat a few years ago so could be wrong. Imagine Lebron and Vince on the same team (Vince probably doesn’t ask for a trade if Lebron is here but who knows).

Looking at the raptors schedule, all the crap/tanking teams they play are on the road except for 2 home games vs Charlotte.

2-9 to end season might just get them 5th

Cmon Darko. Work your dark magic. The dream is back

I hope you’re right but I feel like they’d just rule him out for the season.

I do think he is up to nba speed lol he’s been strength and conditioning training since he got here lol

Masai gonna change the NBA by winning with no superstar but great playable depth and defense, able to withstand injuries. Run teams to death and pressure every possession.

Return to Toronto Raptors
