Thaddy made a valid basketball comment about Scottie's on-court stuff, and I agreed with it. It may or may not be relevant to the topic but it's certainly a basketball comment on a basketball forum

Why is some guy getting emotional over our solidarity for a man who got a board warning as if giving an AND1 is necessarily a full or partial endorsement of that person's stated views in the post?

Oh well.

Yeah, because that was a great post to endorse for solidarity. It may be having the opposite impact than what was intended lol. Oh well.

Like I said earlier, there are different personalities, and you get to see it all on these online forums!

And to be clear, coming into a donation thread with "that player needs to play better" when there is a thread right below asking "why isn't that player playing better" is textbook derailing.

According to the story, "[Polkadots Principal Josette] Drummond revealed that she received a “generous offline donation” from Toronto Raptors shooting guard Scottie Barnes," so it was neither through GoFundMe (good thing b/c they charged a 2.9% fee) nor anonymous.

That being said, virtue signalling isn't needed for Scottie because it is well within his character to be giving back to the community. Kudos.

Oh someone gave 50k via gofundme. I figured it was him.

Either way, virtue signalling would be him announcing it not them.

Contestants can be given examples of selfless acts and have to produce negative slants on them as fast as they can for judges to evaluate.

In an ideal world the prize would be a ban.

A guy donates money to help kids with autism (perhaps the most vulnerable members of society) and we have idiot posters finding some way to make it about criticizing Barnes. These are the same people who have been directly responsible for the decline in board quality over the past 3-5 years.

The sad part is that it is not even shocking that posters like Thaddy and Del have behaved this way as this is the new status quo around here.

Full time kindergarten is $1200/month. This isn't a school for kids living in households that are struggling economically. As much as I love Scottie, and agree that this is a classy move by him, I don't understand why a private school is receiving a donation like this. It's a for-profit entity that is providing a private service exclusively to paying customers.

Warned and time off. You were told to stop.
