because he was young. i mean we have to be supportive of the guys who come here. no point in bashing him. there are times where it looked like he turned a corner but then comes back down to earth for long stretches of time.

He should have signed the extension when the Raps offered after his season 2. He thought he could have more, after today he will likely get a minimum

Another 30 point playoff game from Trent is encouraging. Obviously I feel the ship has sailed on him becoming a star or anything like that but no reason he can’t be like Malik Beasley.

Matt Devlin was getting PTSD calling that game and watching Trent lose the game the way he did.

Is he signed for another season or a FA? Not sure if they want to bring him back after that nor would anyone give him a big contract. Despite the good game, everyone knows by now, he runs hot and cold and can still have those blunders.

He is a free agent, if they want him back assuming it's not the minimum, they will have to use MLE on him

In the regular season, guys like this drive you nuts when they run hot and cold. But in the playoffs, there's a lot more value in a flame thrower that can catch fire and the trade off ends up being worth it when you can just pull him if he's having one of those 0-5 games.

GTJR/Battle/Lawson off the bench would be great

I think Jakobe, Gradey and Ochai are all better options than GTJ. Gary is just too inconsistent. Great when he is on but when he is off he gives you nothing. I'm happy with our own young guys

GTJ is one of those players that leave your team and you barely notice a difference. So inconsistent, barely makes an impact.

Was he calling the game? I was watching the game and was wondering if it was him cuz the voice sounded so familiar. But then I was wondering why he'd be calling their game?

He's was calling early rounds of national playoffs games before he came here and during the first few years when we weren't making the playoffs.

When making 2.6 million, absolutely.

When making 20 million like he wanted, nope.

Lakers would be a good option for him next year, play alongside Luka and Lebron and get national attention.

Gary is a streaky scorer and a decent perimeter defender, he's probably perfectly utilized as a 6th man.

Agreed. I have a soft spot for GTJ because he was a true professional who didn't complain once but we got too many young guards we need to develop. I do hope he goes somewhere where he can contribute meaningfully but too inconsistent. And those last two turnovers was way too blatant unfortunately.

When he calls the game like that he is much better.

When he calls it with Jack or Alvin it's very unprofessional. I mean I like a bit of personal touch interleaved here an there, but it's done to a point where they ignore the game for stretches.
