geez, must have been a horrible wreck if a Cybertruck managed to get mangled and set on fire.

I don't understand how those cars are allowed on the road. They don't have crumple zones so the occupants take the full brunt of any impact.

They chose a different design choice, hard to say about how safe it actually is in comparison without more data.

In this case, seems like nothing major physically and it is smoke inhalation they are worried about. The truck did get absolutely destroyed though.

The guy is 18 years old man... it is not that crazy for an 18 year old to be out into the early morning. In fact, I would bet most 18 year olds do it.

Give your head a shake man.

Most 18 year olds aren't on the path to making it to the nba tho. Not to criticize alijah for doing typical teenager stuff or getting into a freak accident, but it makes you wonder how many athletes avoided serious incidents just by being home bodies. You hear a lot of athletes say that they never leave the house and maybe there's some benefit to that

I can see both sides.

He's in high school and lives at home. Most 18yr olds don't have the means to buy a Cybertruck, let alone any vehicle. I'd be a little stricter on the ground rules as the parent providing that vehicle, but it's not exactly crazy behaviour.

Seeing some reports that no drugs or alcohol were involved.

Gil is known for putting him through 5 am workouts so who knows, he might even have been up that early to go workout on his own.

Who cares why he was up.

It is crazy to try and victim blame someone who was up late or up early and got into an accident.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

The pictures on twitter show a cybertruck that ran over a fire hydrant and crashed into a tree. Don't know if this is accurate.

Seems like there's always serious fire associated with these Tesla accidents. At least the ones I've read of in the news.

Cybertruck wasnt on fire. Other car was.

Was there another vehicle involved? Don't really see confirmation of that anywhere.

TMZ article sounds like a single vehicle crash. No other car mentioned

Not just Tesla. Electric car batteries are prone to fires I saw an electric Mercedes here in Toronto. It's a risk you take when buying those electric cars, don't have a hard crash as the battery may ignite and it's much harder to stop that battery fire, as far as I know.

I am not against those ev cars but I don't think the technology is mature enough and they push them on us.

Am I the only one impressed with the crumple zone / frontal collision safety according to the pictures? Esp that apparently young Alijah is likely going to walk away from this with fairly minor injuries?

Also...I almost refuse to believe this video is real...I think the guys pulled him out of the truck which is so commendable. Also the guy with the fire extinguisher A+. But I'm gonna need someone to explain to me why after all that, he was just left in the water and why that's on video. IF this is real....there's something wrong here ...

Read on Twitter

"Wake up, wake up, quick!" from the video taker. What??? I need some more context here. So many questions.

At 1:09 of that video you can see him sit ting up, then start to stand up. So that has to be a good sign.

But then I ask...why is he just in his underwear and socks?

Good to hear. Those Tesla wrecks are brutal. So dangerous - especially when they catch on fire.
