Don't think I don't see what you are doing NinjaBro

You effectively created another TWO thread of which you are the OP - full control of editing its title to make fun of us

play-in probably, but top 6 isn't that easy even in the East

If Tatum is out for the season, Boston will be hovering around .500. I can see us competing for a top-6 seed.

But yeah, play-in is more likely than top-6.

We should’ve tried to win more games.

The conclusion is either

1. The draft is rigged
2. We should've won more games and not rest so many players

Whoever is still saying we should tank harder after seeing Utah get the 5th pick is seriously delusional. You can stay on that Tank by yourself

There is a valid argument to be made that picking #5 is better than picking #9. But if you're banking on winning the lottery, you're going to need to send your best player to the Lakers first, or hope that it's a weak draft year.

It's up to Masai now to show that he can draft a better player at #9 than Charlotte, Utah, Washington, NOP, and Brooklyn will draft from 4-8.

I might be in the minority but I think we can come out with best player after Flagg. I always thought it was Flagg then everyone else in this draft so I trust our FO to hopefully find those pieces. Just sucks we're picking 9th now though. It's a matter of development and situation plus opportunity and culture which we have better than most teams.

I just know Spurs are likely gonna take VJ and he'll become a star. That was our pick I think.

Imagine Washington and Utah are already set to tank again to try and have the same thing not happen. Imagine watching their games next year.

Indeed. They were the biggest losers. AINGE especially must be shocked..... NBA telling tankers... see.... you wasted a season.

You can at least control lots of elements of these things to make you better. So its on MU and Co to do that. He has certainly taken those steps the last year. Need another good year going forward.

Ah I remember the good old days of buzz words. "Culture" "development" "I believe" "We The North"

The reality of it is we got really lucky with a disgruntled star who couldn't choose where he would be traded. Today's NBA climate doesn't allow that anymore.

It’s not luck when any team could’ve traded for him.

For years tWo have talked about how essential it is to tank and yet year in and year out they get proven wrong. Teams dropping in the lottery, draft classes lacking in superstar talent, teams acquiring superstars through trades (OKC).

Not a single tanking team aside from the Spurs (treadmilled for years) have drafted a superstar. Not OKC, not Houston, not Detroit, not Cleveland, not Orlando.

It simply requires a ridiculous amount of luck. We are in a much better position than the Pelicans, Jazz, Wizards and Nets and they are drafting just in front of us.

Year after year teams build contenders with multiple lottery picks.

2 Seasons in a row of 20-30 wins, and only a single 9th pick to show for it lmao. The level of incompetence this FO has shown since 2019 is unreal.

Man don't you ever get exhausted of spouting the same bull all the time?

go look at our roster to begin 2 season ago and compare it to now and tell me there is only a "single 9th to show for it"

Two seasons ago we had FVV/OG/Siakam/Barnes/Poeltl/13th and all of our picks except a 2024 1st.

Now we have IQ/Barrett/Ingram/Barnes/Poeltl/9th pick and all of our picks (no extra 1sts).

Worse at every position that’s not Barnes or Poeltl. I like the guys we have on the bench but they all project as role players. I’ll admit that I’m not that high on Gradey.

So worse at every position… except 40% of them?

What about our bench? Would you rather Flynn/Thad/Precious or Shead/Dick/Walter/Agbaji/Mogbo/Battle?

We have significantly more assets, higher ceiling assets, better cap flexibility, more future picks, etc.

Ingram especially is the highest ceiling player we’ve had in years. He in theory could be a 25/5/5 type guy and would be the best scorer since Kawhi.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

9th pick isn't a tough spot for tWo, it’s a tough spot for any team wanting to compete when they are stuck with a bunch of C and B level players. This league isn't run by quantity, it's quality. So unless we pull off some Curry level pick, it's just bad for the team and all the fans who want more than a 48 win team year in and out.

To be fair, 48-win teams are contenders in the current NBA.

Sometimes it's nice to let a few teams make the mistakes in front of you. There will be 3-4 "B & C" players taken in the top 8. #9 could be the one for the "A". Plenty of "A+", all-star, superstars taken at 9! There are two guys I really like that will probably get Masai & Bobby yelled at for taking them "too soon". Never Maluach though :D

There is so much luck involved, so many busts.... I don't particularly like 3 of possibly the top 5.
