It likely brings the price down quite a bit and would leave us with a more balanced roster.

That said, if for some reason the Bucks would take RJ (my preference) and/or IQ instead, I wouldn’t be upset. I just think those two are perceived to have negative value.

Either way we’re probably coughing up all of the picks we can, but maybe with Scottie in the deal it becomes less about future picks and more about young talent that is ready to go.

Trying to pair Giannis and Scottie would be a mess. I'd rather he be traded as well so there could be a clean rebuild in 3 or 4 years.

Let's be honest: We have the pieces to put together a package for Giannis

Post#282 » by DeRozanTho » Sun May 25, 2025 2:57 pm

And I mean a SERIOUS package that I don't think any other team can come close to matching. Here me out:

Immanuel Quickley
Gradey Dick
Jonathon Mogbo
Jakobe Walter
9th pick
2026 1st round draft pick
2027 rights to swap first rounders
2028 1st round draft pick

For

Giannis Antetokounmpo

The trade checks out in the trade machine as well

This would leave us with a starting line up of

Barnes/RJ/Ingram/Giannis/Poetl

with Shead, Ochai, Lawson and Battle off the bench. Bench could use some depth for sure but overall this would be a group that would climb right into Championship contention on day 1.

I'm doing everything in my power if I'm Masai and Bobby to get a deal with this ground work to happen. This gives Milwaukee a solid foundation to start the rebuild. What do you guys think?

Where is the shooting on that roster? You have to surround Giannis with shooters to win w him.

Thank you for creating another useless Giannis thread.

Fair point. Not sure what the pick compensation would be, but I imagine it’d be a LOT less if Scottie was included.
I believe in Masai.

You can't honestly believe that the bucks would trade giannis for Iq and #9.

Why in the world would they do that?

Well for starters it’s not just iq and 9. Secondly, I did this to demonstrate a two team trade where the salary matches. Thirdly, the bucks have a ton of expiring contracts and zero depth. Fourth, I did say add picks as needed. I hear you that IQ + Gradey + Battle + 9 is nowhere near “value” in a vacuum for Giannis, but no trade where you’re trading a top 5 player in the league is one that you’re winning in the short term, generally.

Hopefully Giannis selects the raptors as his preferred destination.

Merit....you can't honestly be saying that Battle or Gradey are significant trade pieces in attaining giannis?

I mean...if this is fun for you then go ahead. But you are living in a fantasy world.

I thought Iq + RJ + 9 was a pipe dream. You are saying that's too much?

The bare minimum for giannis would be scotty, one of iq/rj, #9, one of walter/gradey, and like 3 more FRPs and 3 swaps.

Yes I absolutely think Gradey and Battle are pieces of value. I am not saying iq/rj/9 is too much. It just depends on what the bucks want. I’d focus on the “add picks as needed” part. Not sure what that looks like, but yeah. My goal was to create a trade that kept RJ and a trade that kept IQ. Also I don’t think we trade more than 3 picks/pick swaps. The highest end of my offer would probably be iq/RJ/2 firsts, 1 pick swap starting in 2027. Or, Iq, RJ, Gradey and a first next year.

Fair enough. We just strongly disagree on this. I think your ideas are not realistic is all.

Totally fair. We can agree to disagree. I’ve been wrong before, but I feel pretty good about my track record because we historically overestimate what a player gets in trade.

Appreciate that you stuck to my position and didn’t resort to attacking me. Cheers.

I think Scottie has to go in any deal with Giannis.... He has the best perceived value on the Raps.
Our starting lineup, if we kept Scottie would be Scottie, RJ, Ingram, Giannis, Poetl. Our starting lineup would be huge and at best average 3 point shooting.

I actually, like the proposed deal I saw.
Murray for Quickley.

Giannis for Scotty, 1st rdr, 1st Pick Swap, Dick, Walter.

Murray/Shead
RJ/Oochai
Ingram/Battle
Giannis/ Boucher or another signnee
Poetl /Mogbo
