I mean, he didn't have his best play in Game 7. Fourth quarter was a little limp, but the game was lost in the third anyway, and he sat for half of it for some reason.

But yeah. That game wasn't on Siakam. Losing Hali was a HUMONGOUS blow, and Pascal isn't a tier-1 guy, so expecting him to somehow pull it out of the bag for Indy was way too much.

And again even if he was a tier 1 guy, let’s say he was jokic or shai himself, is that guy gonna single handedly win the game for the pacers? Probably not… so the fact that people are blaming him is honestly crazy. It’s just hate.

Maaaaybe.

They were up 1 at the half and won the 4th by a point. They just crapped themselves into oblivion in the third. On the game, Pascal shot under 39% from the field and only played half of the third, which was super weird, and then shot poorly in the fourth.

So yes, there's a reasonably good chance a tier-1 guy could have made a big difference in Game 7 specifically. Pascal was 5/13 from the floor, 1/4 from the floor in the 4th and only took 2 shots in less than 7 min of burn in the 3rd.

But again, that's speaking from the POV of him having to be a tier-1 guy. No one sane thinks he's that, so holding him to that standard doesn't make any sort of sense, for sure.

He definitely had a bad game, and they "only" lost by 12 points... and pretty much all of that happened based on their poor showing at both ends in the third. They were otherwise +2 over the other 3 quarters of the game.

what would you call a superstar top 10? to me its like top 8 and he isn't that he remind me of lowry for sure

He got outscored by Pascal, the same way Nash got outscored by Amare and Marion and CP3 got outscored by Blake. A PG's impact goes beyond scoring.

I mean it's not the same way Nash got outscored by Marion and Amare. There is a reason why Nash won two MVPs and Tyrese was voted most overrated in the league by his peers. Siakam won ECFMVP and was front runner for FMVP if Pacers won. That would never happen with Nash because his impact was undeniable.

Hali is awesome... Super clutch and unselfish but he is inconsistent and has the tendency to get very passive. Indy has a ton of weapons and he benefits from the ability to pick and choose his spots.

Not a chance and Tyrese's peers were hating.

Vegas odds favored him over Hali and it was pretty much the consensus online if Pacers won. Maybe not in the TO Realgm bubble lmao. No one really cared about Tyrese before this playoff run... He plays in Indy and wasn't even an all star this year. His peers had no reason to hate on him.

Anyways my point is Nash and Hali should not be spoken of in the same breath at this point. Anyone who has watched both teams extensively would understand that.

Who cares what random players and media members voted for.

EPM this season (includes regular season and playoffs):
Hali: +3.9
Pascal: +3.3

BPM this season (regular season/playoffs):
Hali: +5.8/+4.7
Pascal: +1.7/+4.3
Hali was even better the previous two seasons.

For comparison, Nash vs. Amare in 2006-07:
Nash: +5.9/+5.2
Amare: +1.8/+5.7

Amare had a great run in those playoffs. Would you consider him Phoenix's best player?

Arguing that Siakam is Indiana's best player is absolute foolishness. Tyrese runs that offence like a finely oiled machine. Pascal is a better scorer, but he's being put in optimal scoring positions by his PG.
