Olivier Rioux… I just don’t see it. I’m kinda over the experiment.

I’m missing Hair Canada’s analysis this tournament. Hope everything is alright with him.

It's sad too because you can see Olivier Rioux has worked hard on his footwork and it has improved dramatically... but he has 0 hand eye coordination to speak of. Can't rebound, can't catch a pass. The amount of times you could see the coaches try to explain to him why he was picking up fouls or missing assignments and it just wasn't sinking in. But then the coaches just kept putting him out there

The overall talent on Canada was impressive actually.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Just watched it. Fun, competitive game.

Beckford's defense impressed me. I already knew he could score. Love Charles game. Nyorha looked great.

Having 3 seven footers is a luxury. I think Myer will be good when he gains some.weight/ strength. I like his mobility. Rioux affected shots around the rim, but I can't believe he hasn't figured out how to stay vertical on shot contests. Dude is 7'8".......you don’t need to reach.

Ahrens is a nice floor spacing big with some.decent mobility.

These guys deaerved to medal. Too bad they ran into the US so early.

Easy win vs Switzerland today. Canada plays Australia tomorrow for 5th place.

Rioux needs a lot of work with coordination. He's unplayable at this point unless Florida runs zone.

Rioux seems to he playing better today. Doing a much better job staying vertical. He is actually playing better than I ever expected him to.

He'll never play in the NBA, but he may get a contract somewhere in Europe where there is no 3 in the key.

Hakeem's son seems decent. Has a nice 3 point shot.

Beckford just made an insane 3 point shot to beat the buzzer. Caught it mid jump & had to release it before he landed.

Nice win over Australia to place us 5th. Had it not been for unlucky seeding, I gotta think we’d place 2nd or 3rd.

Nice last few games by Olajuwon I thought. His shot started to fall. I came away impressed by a lot of the guys. Looking forward to keeping tabs on the South Florida guys this year — Beckford, Nnani and Nyorha. Also, Efeosa at Butler. And hopefully the offers keep piling up for Jordan Charles.

Watched the highlights from the US game and the Australia game. Am I crazy or was this team super talented/balanced? I feel like I haven't been following this generation that much (kind of tuned out after 2021 for the juniors). Would love a write-up from HairCanada on who to watch.

I agree with you Bozo. We lost two games this tourney to the first and second place team respectively and ended up finishing fifth. Sucks we don't get hardware but still a great showing for these guys.

This is FIBA, you can get a bad outing or matchup and you are done and end up finishing 5th like we did this tournament. This U19 Canadian team was much better than what they finished. This is why it's very important that we develop a good national league for guys to play and get better so that we can create depth like the European and Latin American teams have for the national program. The German team was stacked and hanging on against the US for 2 quarters despite what the scores says. Most of their guys are used to playing against grown men in Europe. Hannes Steinbach is an NBA player for sure. Anderson is a bit older and already has one season at Texas Tech under him. I would say Germany has cemented themselves as an overall top 3 program in the world right now. US, Germany, Serbia, France, Canada?, Spain?

Where are some of our younger guys committing or playing for next year. Is Jordan Charles entering his senior season in high school next year? I don't see any information on where he has committed? Same with Olajuwon.

I was at the All Canadian game and came away impressed by Charles. Very fast, elite handle. Decent shot. His biggest issue will be his size.

I am not surprised at all by his play at FIBA. He is the real deal.

He turns 18 this month, so I can only assume he has finished secondary school.

He has offers for D1 scholarship & I could see him excelling as a junior/ senior somewhere ((much like Nembhard did this year)

Have offered according to his social media. I am sure there are more.

I can't lie when I was seeing him growing up I doubted he was gonna make it. I thought his brother was better & thought they were getting hyped up b/c they were in the team Canada system early. He's worked extremely hard tho, even back then when he was young. Real student of the game tho, he was always small like u mentioned, but had real heart, very humble as well. Great kid
