All those teams have significantly more salary tied up to, so doesnt that make sense?

We're paying like we're a top 8 team this year (221M). So like Magic are below(198M), rest are above.

36W's would put us middle(ish) of the pack. So, pay for 8th, get 15th or something like that.

Magic are below us only because Paolo is still on his rookie contract.

Reality is, FVV just had a 2 year paying more than BI. OG makes more than BI this season. Siakam makes 7 million more this season.

BI's contract comes with knowing he will miss games. If not, he gets the max and more term....and we pay more to get him.

Also...why a random 36 win season? We could have won that this year if we tried and are adding BI and CMB to the group.

Look.what happened when they tried to win for a short period leading up to the trade deadline. They played the vets & started playing defense & executed. They went 8-7 in January, beating Boston, Orlando, Brooklyn & Atlanta x2.

Then that got shut down after trading Davion & Kelly O.

This team would have won 36 bare minimum had they been trying to win all season. If heathy, it was prbably a .500 team minimum.

But media...and apparently some posters, don't seem to realize that. Of course every season is different and anything can happen, but the team showed it could focus on defense and win games...beating Celtics, GSW, Atl×2 on road, etc.. during that stretch you mention. And maybe more importantly, DARKO showed he could flick the switch and get the buy in.

I have said that I think they will be a 45-50 win team next year IF they added a reliable back up. They added Mamu....who I am ify on. A Yak injury makes me worried. I would still love a better C added and 1 less sg/sf. But it seems like they are willing to go small with Mogbo if need be.

Trying to win = playing the vets & not force feeding Gradey minutes & touches..Also not asking Scottie to brick 10 above the break 3's. Those development minutes & development touches definitely lost us a bunch of games.

Also. The team knew we weren't trying to win & for long stretches the vets looked like they weren't even putting in effort.

When direction came from up top to showcase the vets in January & try to win some games, they looked like completely different players and a completely different team.
