No way this is real. Doesn't Bobby want the president job? He might as well resign after this trade with it being his swan song.

Some of you are really either overrating RJ's trade value and/or really praying for a miracle. As it stands, the rumors are RJ still does not have much value around the league. Flipping RJ as-is will be a financial move, meaning equally bad contracts but maybe we break them up into 2-3 pieces to make further trades. If we can save money to duck the tax for a Pat Williams and maybe Ayo instead of Jevon, then that's not really a bad trade IMO.

This is just 1 of 1000 "trade idea"/clickbait out there, this is not a rumour.

Interestingly, we no longer need another 4-3 type player like that. One that can shoot certainly, but so does half the league. Kind of nice to suddenly have some size on the wing if needed (Barnes/CMB/Mogbo/BI).

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

I didn't even think it was real when ESPN posted it pre-draft, before it was stolen, when it was "the 12th overall pick" instead of just "a first round pick."

Trading for Pat Will effectively creates a SF/PF logjam as opposed to a SG log jam. The CMB pick changes our forward depth outlook.

At least RJ can swing between the 2 and 3.

He's a strong 6'6" power SG.

Don't see an RJ trade happening.

Odds are we are gonna wait and see if he can get the efficiency spike like he had in 2023-24 if we can get him back from initiating his own offence and just playing off others.

HE had his most efficient season in his limited time playing to end 2024, and it was on the back of 62% of his 2 pointes being assisted (career NYK was 40%, and this year was 46%). With ingram here, and IQ back, I bet we are betting on him having an efficient season not being a #1 or #2 creator offensively.

Then he would have IMMENSELY more value once he has proven to be able to be a #3 or 4 guy on a decent mid $20's deal.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Resign RJ at a lower cap # & his entire perception changes. RJ isn't even as overpaid as everyone likes to imagine, in a few yrs the MLE will be at like 19m - 4yrs flat 100 or de-escalating down works well. Man's only 25, treating him like he's a detriment is just disingenuous thinking

Beal at 50mill is outrageous, Beal at whatever the clippers are paying him is a steal. Tyler herro wants like more than what BI is getting for reference

Having heard Williams' name come up multiple times in the past with many people seemingly interested, how do you feel about this deal?

There was time when lots of people would have rolled the dice on him myself included...personally I think the ship has sailed for Pat, I dont see him becoming anything more than a decent role player. That being said, he could still be useful for us while also helping clear the logjam. Is it worth giving up RJ, who a lot of people want gone just for roster balancing purposes, or should they aim higher?

I can't post the link at this moment sorry

Mark Morales-Smith of SI.com recently put together a mock trade that would land the Bulls a potential star on the wing amid their rebuilding effort.

Here's Morales-Smith's proposed trade:

Bulls receive: RJ Barrett

Raptors receive: Patrick Williams, Jevon Carter, first-round pick

Apparently it includes a 1st round pick which you may have forgotten to mention. And it's just a mock trade by a SI.com writer, so it's not really based in any actual rumours.

That said, depending on the pick protection and year...that makes it a BIT more interesting. Bulls suck. But I'm guessing it's probably like POR's 2026 lottery protected 1st which I'm not interested in. Bulls own all their own picks so I'd be tempted at either their 26 or 27 1st rounders, at most top 3 protected. If they insist on it being POR's pick, I'd need an additional pick swap or a couple seconds at the very least.

That would be a great trade. PWills value can also be rehabbed. He's better than his stats show.

Honestly, I don't think Pwill can be rehabbed - going thru the Bulls forum they're just as down on him as I am, if not moreso. This trade would pretty much be strictly for the pick.
