Why the hell can't Scottie hire a good trainer like Hanlen instead of the YMCA trainer from Florida every freaking year

I'd rather he stay with this main trainer.

I know it’s just workouts but his pull up form looks more smoother opposed to it being very stiff like it normally is.

RJ’s a hard worker, no doubting that.

Contrary to popular belief, which you also share, I do think he can improve and that there’s still untapped upside.

Tbf, it’s mainly his defence that I see him improving.

I think he can be more impactful on offence in a lesser role, I got 0 hopes with the defence though for myself lol.

One thing I would love to see more from RJ is finishing and driving with his right hand.

He's great with his left, but seems to be overly dominant with it.

Anyways, I'm excited for RJ, people forget this dude is only 25 and just averaged 21, 6 and 5 on solid shooting splits. That's not easy to do in this league.

Im not a big RJ fan, but there is a reason he was drafted 4th overall. He has real talent and the size/athletic package and he showed better defense to end the year. Can he put it all together? Im dubious, but i understand the faith some people have.

I'm cheering for his success. Yes part of the reason is because he is homegrown talent...but also that is he a good kid, a hard worker (as we can see from those videos) and he is excited to play for his home country and city.

RJ is clearly working on his weakness which is the mid range game. That type of game will help his offense elevate to the next level. Look at what it did to Derozan who was a non shooter and bad dribbler. RJ right now either drives hard or shoots the open 3. He doesn't really have an in between game or a back to the basket fadeaway.

Derozan actually came into the league with a decent mid-range jumper, but he was still quite raw overall in terms of footwork and handles. His handles were not above average until around 2013 and by 2015 his handles were very good. Also by 2014, his footwork was significantly improved and he developed a wide array of post-moves, step backs, spin moves, up and unders etc. which made a very good mid-range player. The dude worked hard on his offensive weaknesses.
