FIBA AmeriCup roster should be dropping tomorrow.

Rumors are that is could be a good one (relative to the last americup roster which was Danalo Banton, TBH and a bunch of CEBL guys).

sounds like Kyshawn George and Leonard Miller are in as the young NBA component and that much of the "Winter Core" will be playing as a part of getting ready for the World Cup Qualfiers. Heard rumors of Kabengele and Wiltjerare playing but hoping for some of TBH, Robertson, Carr, Kennedy, Rowe, Aimaq, Mike etc. as well.

AmeriCup training camp roster. I definitely think this roster can win gold (USA roster is bad, even by their non-NBA standards). I believe this David Muenkat's first time with team Canada - one of the best Canadian dunkers no question!

Decent looking team. I'm very happy that Bell-Haynes and Kabengele are there, two players who are sort of turning out to be the core and most important pieces of the winter qualifying teams. I had been hoping they'd get Kabengele in the fold for years, and it's been one of the low-key important moves over the past couple of years. You could make the case that he's our most important big going forward for the next two cycles (even more than Edey because he'll likely only play in the major tournaments).

Likewise, getting George and Miller into the senior system should be useful in coming years. George because you can never have enough wing shooters, and Miller, again, because of the lack of quality Canadian bigs coming down the pipeline. Even though Miller often plays more like a wing, he gets after it on the boards and can block an occasional shot now and then, so he should be perfectly serviceable as a 4 in FIBA.

Carr can play a bit wild at times, but he had some good moments as one of the main guys on that Canada Hoop Jam team last summer.

And overall, there should be some really good shooting, with guys like Darling, Mike, Wiltjer, and George.

Was just at the Global Jam u23 game vs Brazil
They were down by 8 in the 4th when I left,

-Xavian Lee was playing well, really smooth jumper
-Elijah Mahi was the leading scorer in the first half of I'm not mistaken, does a little bit of everything, better handles and a more consistent jumper is needed, but he gets buckets and is a big boy
-vesean alluette was playing well as well, a calm force although I don't think he was scoring much
The other players I didn't really know

Ran into lu dort & Ben mat on the elevator

The CDN men's Olympic team was in the building as well as the fiba guys as well

Caught some of the Japan game vs our men today. On TV. Nice to hear Tim Micallef doing play by play, I'd like to see him more involved in basketball coverage.

Xavier Lee does have a smooth jumper as the previous post said. Grange talked about him at halftime, interesting story going from Princeton to Florida for big NIL money. Not sure he's an NBA guard but we'll see.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Great game for gold at the Canada Games yesterday. U17 Alberta vs U17 Ontario. I came away impressed by the talent on both teams, Deng Ngor especially.

When O-Max was cut by Dallas, I wasn't sure what his future would be, and thought he might have to start considering Europe. So I'm very happy to see that not only did he catch on with Memphis, but he's actually getting real minutes (seemingly ahead of a guy like GG Jackson).

Hopefully he can take advantage of this new opportunity, although it's hard to say if he'll still get minutes once Edey and Clarke get back and they shuffle the lineup to make room for them.
