I am listening to this on relative repeat.

The fifty year anniversary is on November 10. I'm going to spend a few hours looking at Lake Ontario, reflecting on the power of the mighty Great Lakes.

Their rizz... their power...

Just heard of this guy. But he's got a lot of good songs. This is timely.

Just watched a great new music doc on the legendary 70s band Cymande. I used to LOVE these guys during my 20s. Guitar player so minimal and perfect. Never knew much about their story....probably because they were British and funk/rnb music over there isn't documented like it is in America. In anycase....great story. They broke up just before the beginnings of disco and later hip hop and the band members all got jobs in england without knowing that their music was on heavy rotation in NY clubs.

When i played in a band during the 90s we used to cover this song upon my insistence because of the guitar riff. It's like magic to me. So simple, so melodic. Just perfect:

And this was the song they made which, unbenownst to them, became an early disco anthem because of the 45 second breakdown in the middle that DJs would extend by repeating over and over. Lyrics so good too - about a community pulling together in hard times:

In anycase. Cymande is great. Every album is good. It was cool to watch the doc because i didn't know amything about them as people.

Still on a massive Bilmuri kick. Been listening to the new cover that dropped last night of “I Really Want to Stay at Your House” from Netflix’s Cyberpunk on repeat all day. The newest original songs (More Than Hate and Hard2Tell) also absolutely rip. Hoping I can finally catch them live next year because it seems like an absolute vibe, especially with the more prevalent sax and backing vocals in their live performances.

Just came across this and put a smile on my face.

It's a promo for the knicks trying to lure KD in 2019 starring the Wutang Clan.

Man it's so good. Like a quintessential de la album. I really like the Nas Premier album too. You can tell that Premier plas alot of bass guitar on it and i love his playing style. Ain't trying to play it like a "bass player". Playing it like a hip hop producer.
