Portland really want to get rid of Darius Miles, who is locked in for this year and 2 more at 9 mil. Also, I think they see Blake and Fernandez as their future PG combo, so I was thinking something along the lines of Rasho (more useful player, expires 1 year earlier than Miles) + Dmart (expires after this season, and would make salaries work) for Sergio + Miles.
For Portland this would mean they'd have Rasho, LaFrentz and Steve Francis all expiring at the end of next year, giving them some serious money to spend on FAs (those 3 would combine for about $37 mil in salary).

Isn't Fernandez a 2/3? And Miles is untouchable, literally lol. I think the guy just started practicing with contact and we're not even sure he'll be the same athletic player, not the brightest either. We'd also lose a big man in Rasho our only true center.

Sergio found Nate McMillan, probably one of the best defenders coach in the NBA, thats his problem, his game is rly offesnive with a poor defense, last season he averaged 3+ assists in 12 MPG, this season his minutes has been reduce like his assists but his defense has improved a bit. He has potential.

Its more easy find a trade for Jack than Sergio.

There's no way that BC helps Portland get rid of the Miles mistake.

You have to give up something to get something. This idea is based on issues relating to TJs health. Obviously this wouldn't be worth it if TJ is gonna make a full recovery, but if TJ is gonna be seriously compromised by his injuries, maybe it would be worth taking on a bad contract for a promising young PG?

btw Sergio did 3 day ago 8 assists in 6 minutes of a quarter, not a lot of people can do that, he is not a starter atm or a belived 2-unit PG, but the potential is there.

I saw that too. There were some good passes where he created off the dribble and got into the lane but most were basic passes on the perimeter during a hot shooting stretch by his receivers.

But what you're getting is a 3rd string PG for a team that already has 2 starter worthy guys at the position.

Under just about any scenerio, the price you're giving up here (losing future cap space, losing much needed big man depth, taking on a loser like Miles) is way too steep for what really amounts an intriguing, but far from special, prospect.

I believe he's a combo guard, not a swingman. With such a good playmaking SG, who likes to take it up the court (Brandon Roy), a combo guard at the 1 is a pretty good fit.
